I am from a small town so there is not a ton of choices for venues. Here is the one I am leaning towards. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to make it look more wedding-ish? Decorating tips? Opinions in general?
I apologize for the size of these, can’t seem to scale them down!

For those who vote “there is potential” please comment to let me know what could make it better 🙂

More decor and uplighting would make it better I think. I like that it has windows.

rentals! Chivari chairs, uplighting, table overlays etc. maybe?

draping and uplighting, especially doing something with the poles in the middle of the room. Tall, full centerpieces would help too.

i love all the windows! i agree with the PP’s- uplighting and doing something with the columns (can you wrap them in fabric?). also , yes to the chivari chairs! they look a lot nicer than chair covers.

@MissGemini: +1. I would do uplighting and rent different chairs. What do those chairs look like without the covers?

Are DJs normally the ones who provide uplighting?

you could do some tall ish centerpieces that are fancier….you could also use some fabric to drape somehow-with lights or something. I cant find the pic i’m thinking of, but I think it’s nice.

I think it’s a perfectly nice venue. I would lose the chair covers, because chair covers are a pet peeve of mine, and they add too much white to the room. And you’ll want to make sure that your centerpieces are colorful to break up the whiteness of the table…candles could be nice too. If you want more “stuff” around — tissue poms could be nice, different sorts of bunting are available…
But otherwise, seriously, just go with it. It’s a pretty space. Never forget that all those chairs are going to have people seated in them, which is a form of “decoration” in and of itself. 🙂

Thank you all so much for the feedback 🙂 I will look into taller centerpeices, and try to find out whether I can get uplighting.
