I have a three round stone halo plain shank engagement ring, and I’ve been looking for something unique to go with it. I’ve noticed a lot of “antique” rings I’ve looked at have designed etched into the metal, and I was just wondering if it’d look weird. Any opinions are appreciated! Pictures will follow.

I think it would look great! I love etching and milgrain details. Your engagement ring has a vintage look to it so I think they would compliment eachother well. My engagement ring has pave on the shank and my wedding band has milgrain. They don’t match but they look good together.

I think the thin diamond engraved band would look really nice. The other one looks a bit too thick.

I think that so long as the proportions are right, it’ll look nice. Your e-ring is quite the statement piece, so a band that’s too thick/ornate would look odd to me.

mrssloan2013: Do you have a picture handy? I’d love to see!
TheGridMonster: you have a point, I do love the thinner one, I was just scared it was going to be too dainty.

WailFin: I think it would look gorgeous! I’m biased though, because that’s what I have 😉 I absolutely love the contrast and I think this style would work well with your vintage style e-ring. 🙂

I vote yes! I love milgrain detail on a wedding band. I have it on mine and it pairs well with my plain shank ering very well.

WailFin: thanks! I love it too 🙂 No, I actually really like the gap because it means you can still see the interesting shape of my engagement ring – which was why I chose it in the first place! 🙂

I think the more narrow band would be beautiful!

I think it would work well. I wear a 3 stone plain shank with a miligrain wedding band, and love the combo, so I might be biased. My set-

WailFin: I think it’d be a great combo and it won’t look weird at all! I can’t remember if I showed you the vintage-inspired wedding band I plan on getting, but here it is again. It’s a quarter eternity band with filigree.
