jolie2:  What a beautiful venue, congratulations! As I’m sure you know this it totally up to your tatse. I think an evening wedding lends itself to a more formal event but your venue seems like you could definitely play the formality up or down.

Personally my Fiance decided to wear suit beause he wanted to be able to buy something bespoke he could wear again. I also think a tuxedo is too formal for our style so a suit seemed the best choice all around.

Would you be willing to share more details? Like what dress are you wearing? The general theme of the wedding?

It is his day too, if he wants a custom tux then he should get it. Women go to such lengths for the perfect dress that will never be worn again. It is only fair that he gets exactly what he wants.

I love the tux and bow tie! I do think that with that venue (gorgeous!) you can go either way!

jolie2:  I love your inspiration. Very chic!

If you decide to go for a suit I think there a few ways to make it seem more formal:

-A pocketsquare

-Slightly thinner tie (very modern IMO)

– 3-piece suit (includes a vest)

I also think shoe choice really influences how dressy a suit looks.
