I’ve officially ordered samples of paper and pocketfolds and I have my first draft of what I’m going to do done. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated…fi is useless on this one, he’s never even seen a pocketfold invite before, lol.
Here is my initial sketch of what I want:

A little about that…The pocketfold is going to be a deep purple. The inserts/main invite piece is going to be a pale gold/champagne. And the frame around the main part of the invite is going to be cricut cut and glued down (cart – accents essentials) and also a dark purple.
And here are my actually drafts…
Main invite (again, the circuted frame will be surrounding this, and I plan on rounding off the corners):

Now for all of the inserts, the corners will be rounded, and the circles at the bottom will not be printed on, but instead be vellum that is glued down (and the yellow will actually be gold, not yellow).
Accommodations:

Directions (I will actually be typing out real directions that will take up the whole back of this card):

RSVP (I’m considering doing an “Advice for the bride and groom” madlib on the back {the wedding is at the children’s museum, lol} but I’m not 100% sold on this yet):

“Let’s Dance” (aka song requests – I’m desperately seeking help on the wording for this, so any advice will be much appreciated!):

And then there will be a belly band with a little circular seal that has our monogram embossed on it.
So hive…what do you think?

@Baileyh: It’ll be ceremony, walk into the next room for cocktails while they switch over my ceremony room to be the reception room (which shouldn’t take that long, because the ceremony space is becoming the dance floor, all the tables will already be set up, the DJ will just have to set up and the chairs moved to the tables) walk back into the other room to go straight into reception.
The most important criteria in a venue for us was that it could accomodate the ceremony and the reception so there wouldn’t be a huge wait in between. We’re estimating cocktail “hour” to only last a half hour.

@kitzy: Thanks! I’m quite happy with how my vision ended up…not exactly looking forward to compiling them, but I’ve got plenty of time!

@DanielleZara: Thanks so much!
Fi is more impressed with my little sketch then the actual digital drafts, lol…”You seriously just thought of all that??? That’s awesome!!!” And he’s most excited about the little chicken and little cow for the RSVP card, lol. If we end up having different options (fish, pork, vegetarian) I’ll just have to find little cartoon pictures for that! But we don’t start deciding our menu until January.

@MandaMack: Yes I am impressed by the pics too…everything looks really nice and organized. Your Fiance is right! And I love the idea of the dance card…never seen that before. Everything about your invite looks fun, so if you’re going for that, you have succeeded ๐

Cool!
Ok one tiny correction I just noticed…usually RSVPs say “Declines with regret” (no “s”). Otherwise, everything looks great.

Very nice ๐
I used my Cricut to make a similar design for my invites.
And DanielleZara is correct, it should be regret without the “s”.

@MandaMack: Yeah I googled it too before I posted here, and people DO say “Declines with regrets” sometimes but grammatically, it doesn’t sound right. I think you COULD go either way though ๐

Yes, I picked up on the plural ‘regrets’, too. It would be like using ‘accepts with pleasures.’ May I put on my english teacher hat and say that it actually could not go either way; it is just incorrect.

Looks great!
As for the Let’s Dance page, you could write “Have a few favorite songs? List them here to help us create the perfect playlist to dance the night away!” and then write the send it with the rsvp thing.
