Go with the lace dress, you can never go wrong with lace; classic, timeless and elegant

Lace is vintage and I also associate it with the elderly

I like/love lace but Dont go with it if it doesn't suit your personality like you said

I love lace (I have other dresses than my wedding dress that are made of lace)! I thought that I would chose a ballgown but actually chose a more form fitting lace dress. If you love it – I say go for it!

I never have associated lace with the elderly.  I think of lace panties, lace nighties, lace bras…To me lace is sexy in an elegant way.

First my lace dress (lavendar over diamond white…Sophia Tolli Madelyn).  Then some others that are awesome.

     And here’s a great one..

@ozpeony:  thats funny that you said that about everyone wearing lace! i have been to just about a million weddings in the last 2 years and not a single bride wore lace. i thought i was alone in my love of lace until i cam to the bee!

I tried on a lace dress and it looked terrible on me.  My mother and I both agreed that I am not a lace type of girl.  The girls who get them look fantastic, but…it’s not for me!

Funny, because I asked myself the same question: why are there so many lace dresses now and why are so many people getting them?

The girl at the store told me they are “in fashion” because the “vintage look” is also in fashion.

    However as

I saw some beautiful brides here with lace gowns and I think it is a matter of personal opinion… So if you don’t like it do not get a lace dress just because it is “cool” at the moment… This is supposed to be the most important dress of your life and you absolutely have to love it!

I am getting married next september and I had so many styles and designs picked out to try on and not one of them in my mind was ever to try on a lace dress.

I loved the fit and flare styles and where I tried on dresses they had several fit and flare in lace, and never did I ever think /i would like lace and I do thought of it as more of a vintage elderly style, but when I tried a particaular one I my jaw dropped and I fell in love with it.

If you fall in love with a dress while trying it on, Id go with it. You love how it fits you and looks on you, you cant hide that feeling with a dress.

GO FOR IT.. Here is mine.

I love lace!! If you really like that lace dress, get it! I don’t consider it elderly but lace, especially in certain styles, definitely looks vintage. If you’re okay with that, get it! You won’t look like an old lady in a lace dress for… obvious reasons. =P

I blame Princess Kate for bringing it back. Obviously European lace sales were suffering or something. Now everyone has something lace in their wardrobe. I just pulled out my old stuff from 20 years ago and I was trendy again, lol

With that said if you love the dress, you should go with it! It is in now and it is “modern” right now. So no reason to overlook something you haven’t considered before.

Gemma_Leigh:  While lace is certainly a classic bridal fabric, I definitely don’t think of it as “elderly” or old-fashioned. My dress has a lot of lace, and one of the things I really love about it is how the large pattern adds texture and interest (and dare I say a bit of modern, romantic whimsy!). So I’d go for it if you love it!
