@Shkragoldfish:  I’m partial to a magnet, because that’s what we did. Everyone LOVES them. We just sent them out on Monday and I have been getting constant compliments on how nice/cute/gorgeous/awesome they are. I even had one recently engaged friend say her Fiance is insisting they do magnets for theirs! We used magnetstreet.com and I highly recommend them! Great prices, really easy to work with, and they come in a reusable box!

They’re not actually blue. My mom’s phone takes weird colored pictures lol.

we did a magnet. everyone LOVED it and they are really grateful for it. one person told me that they are supposed to go to a wedding soon and they have now misplaced the save-the-date and the invitation but having our magnet on the refrigerator helps them to remember and they smile when they see it.

a friend of mine got married in 2007 and sent me a magnet. i didn’t take it down until a few years ago. lol i got used to seeing it and eventually asked myself why did i still have a photo of my friends on my fridge. lol it was a very good idea and so i was sure to choose the same save-the-date when the time came.

it’s easy and inexpensive. even though our invitations are going out in a few weeks, we’re STILL getting requests for magnets from family that didn’t really “need” a save-the-date. lol

Everyone loved our magnets. I could caution against confetti or scratchers. Some guests won’t like they mess they leave.

@Shkragoldfish:  the design style is totally up to you guys. i didn’t think about it too hard. i just chose one of the top ranked styles and went with that. i do like the photobooth style. i was too lazy to look for enough photos that fit the style though lol

@Shkragoldfish:  I like the idea of using just a single picture of you two.

I actually don’t particularly like when folks send magnets. I have no idea what to do with them after the wedding. Throwing them away seems wasteful, but having my friends smoochy facing one another on the fridge for the rest of time is just not what I want. I’ve got lots of magnets myself, so I use those to keep the paper ones on the fridge until I get the real invite. At present one magnet save the date is holding up three paper ones.

I’m also very much a fan of save the dates that do NOT include a photo of the couple for reasons stated above. I really prefer other images and words and always feel that they look way classier. Perhaps I’m just boring, but I really like a cute graphic design, like the cityscape example you showed above. I’d compliment you on that one!

@Shkragoldfish:  We’ve got the same issues but on the other coast! Ours is also a domestic destination wedding, so we’re printing up the save the dates at this very moment. We’re doing everything bilingual for FIs family, and got the Spanish ones in first. Here’s what we went with:

If you want to play around with that, I have the file for the front without any words. We designed these with the help of a friend and printed them through an online vendor.

@Shkragoldfish:  tbh by looking at your post, it seems clear that you’re loving the magnet idea so I reckon you should do that, personally I liked the confetti idea – it’s cute and unique. 🙂
