I am looking for a darker purple V-neck dress with a bow in the back. This fabric is iridscent taffeta though and I am not sure if my girls will mind that fabric. The wedding is in mid-June in Ohio. How do the bees feel about this one?

i think it’s a gorgeous dress. check with your more well-endowed Bridesmaid or Best Man about the neckline to see if they’re comfortable . if it’s a true surplice top it sometimes gaps when you move. it’s not really a summer color but if it goes with all your other colors, that’s all that matters

wow, i think it’s beautiful. can they go try it on/touch the fabric first? the color is stunning and the fit looks flattering.

I think it’s a very pretty dress. I’d want to see it in person, though, to be sure about the iridescent fabric. From the photo, parts of it look like it has black trim. Have you shown it to your ‘maids in person yet? If it fits them well and shimmers nicely in person, go for it!

Taffeta is going to be pretty steamy in the summer. Does it come in a different fabric? Also, I agree with PP. I wear a D and all tops like that gap and show my bra, no matter what I do. 🙁

hey, I think this dress is lovely. I was concerned about the fabric of my bridesmaids dresses as I felt that although I loved the colour a dull fabric may have been classier but I’m so glad I stuck with the shinier fabric. I think that if you go for a dark colour then you don’t want to make the entire dress dull. I felt that the shinyness of the fabric made the dresses stand out. Ive added a pic for you to have a peep. It not great as I haven’t had the pics from our photographer yet but it gives you an idea.

I think the dress style is lovely, universally flattering and the color is fine – but I’d have to say I don’t like the shiny aspect of the fabric at all. Whenever someone tells me about a “nightmare” bridesmaid dress they had to wear, it often involves shine. It could also add about 10 lbs on your maids in pictures, In My Humble Opinion.
That being said, you do probably have to see the dress in person to get the effect properly.

Love the dress. Beautiful shape and the color is great. But the whole iridscent taffeta fabric makes me want to scream. Not very many chances to wear that kind of fabric. Maybe go with a similar style dress with different fabric so your girls can wear their dresses again after the wedding.

I think the dress is pretty. I might check on the fabric-tafetta is pretty warm in the summer. Also, I’d have the same concern with that KateMW and nybride did. In necklines like those, those of us with larger chests seem to have trouble not busting out…

The dres is gorgeous. But, I would defintely take in to consideration the fabric. Maybe you can find something similar by another designer. I’ve looked and looked for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses to fit what I need for my multi-shaped and height party so I know I’ve seen this style quite often. Also, I think making sure the bustier maids are comfortable is a nice gesture as well.
