I went shopping to a place where I was sure I was going to find my dress. We had a lot of fun at the beginning and I was feeling really positive about the whole thing but then I ended up trying on literally about 15 different dresses and getting overwhelmed and left without buying anything.
I liked a lot of the ones I tried on but wasn’t getting that feeling.
At the end of the appt, I got to pick my 3 faves just in case I ever came back or changed my mind. So I picked 3 … and then left the shop and looked through the pics my sister had taken. I was shocked that none of the dresses I picked as my faves looked good in the pics. But there was 1 that I didn’t put on my faves that I LOVE in the pic. The more I think about it the more I want to try it on again. The only problem was that on the left side, there was this different ruffly … thing that I HATED. The consultant mentioned that they might be able to get rid of the ruffly. But other than that I seriously would consider buying the dress.
I don’t remember what designer it was or anything and the dress shop is an hour away from where I live so I don’t know how soon I could go back. Would it be stupid of me to call and try and figure it out or get them to put it on my favorties list? And how do you think the dress looks on me? You can’t really see the ugly ruffle thing because I’m pushing it backwards but besides that, I think this is the most flattering thing I’ve tried on … just regretting not putting it on my list! What if this is what I want??

Well seeing as you know that you like that shape, maybe you can look at other dresses with a similar top, but a bottom that is more to your liking. I am sure it is out there. And its a great reason to keep trying on dresses.

I agree, I’m not a fan of the ruffly either but maybe its just me. I think it detracts from the rest of the dress, which is gorgeous. I don’t think calling the salon would help much unless they remember you, maybe make another visit and see if you can find it. Or post an “ID this dress” thread – surely some Bee out there knows who the designer is, they’re an awfully talented bunch when it comes to IDing dresses!
For the record, I think that dress looks great on you!

Are you going somewhere else to look? Because you could take this pic with you and use it to try to find a similar dress without the ruffle thing, maybe.
You could probably call them, but I would worry about communication and you’d probably end up going back there anyway before buying it (unless you planned to buy over the phone, in which case, I would definitely worry that the dress you describe over the phone and the one they pull won’t match).

That fit of dress with the v-neck and tight waistline is very flattering on you. But if you didn’t feel it, you didn’t feel it. I would keep looking. You still have lots of time .

Are they aware that you took pics? If so, send them the pic and they will be able to identify the dress and add it to your list.
