Sorry in advance, this is long!
Hi bees, so, I’ve posted on here a number of times before, and every time I have been comparing something (anything) to a dress by Sophia Tolli (Vincia)
It was my top runner, I loved it, but it wasn’t perfect. It had lacy straps/cap sleeves that I wasn’t a huge fan of, and it was a deep v neckline, which was way too revealing for my liking, since I have a HUGE bust.. I felt I was showing too much. I went back to the salon however, fully expecting the seamstress to tell me that they could fix these problems, and alas they could not. I was totally heartbroken and left in tears, since I had also had frustration a couple months back about not finding anything perfect. I went to another salon in the area the next day, and found nothing. I went home and sifted through a fall 2012 bridal magazine and found one dress by impression that I loved (http://mediafiles.canadianbride.com/Dresses/Dress-Gallery-Upload-Feb-2012/d00183_ImpressionBridal_p352.gif) and so I called a salon that carried Impressions. They told me they didn’t get their fall lines in yet, but that they were having a sale on so I should come look around. Being anxious, I did, and as I sifted through the gowns on the racks I found what I thought was the Sophia Tolli dress again.. but when I looked closer, I realized it wasn’t the same dress at all. It was very very similar, but the neckline was sweetheart and there were no sleeves.. there was a bit less beading but overall it looked so much like vincia. I looked and was super happy to see it was only one size smaller than my size so this meant I could try it on! (This was a big thing for me because over the past few months I kept finding dresses I loved but couldn’t try on because I’m “plus size” in gowns… so frustrating!)
Needless to say, when I put it on I was in love. It was like they took Vincia and fixed all of the problems I had with it. It’s not the exact same cut, because Vinca was a fit and flare and this new gown is a-line with dropped waist but honestly it’s so little of a difference. I am considering taking the crinoline out from underneath though to remove the a-line look, but we shall see! I haven’t ordered it yet, but I think finally this is the one!!
It’s a size too small, so not pulled as tight as it could be if it fit.. it should cinch me just as much as vincia once it’s in my size 🙂
This is the dress (right) next to Vincia (left).. taken in a mirror so it actually is not opposite like the pic shows
