I think it looks beautiful. The back, especially. What type of wedding are you having? What are your questions on wearing it? If YOU love it, go for it…it’s your dress.
Looks very elegant! I don’t think I could do it because I’m not a fan of the embellishment on the "bum."
It’s a gorgeous dress, but I don’t like the way the hem draws attention to the base of your hips. I notice that before I notice your face and the gorgeous bodice!
But the fitted mermaid looks great on your curvy figure! What about one whose skirt flows better from the bodice?
My eyes are just automatically drawn to your crotch line with that embellishment right there! I’m sorry! It’s like…RIGHT THERE!
I agree with ejs4y8. I think a dress that accentuate your waste would look beautiful on you.
You have a perfect hourglass shape!! I do agree that when I looked, I noticed your hips first. Now that I’ve said that, I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing. Maybe you love your hips and your waist, you should flaunt them.
Honestly, the pictures are very extremely shadowy and it’s hard to tell. From what I can see it does show off your hips and waist, the train is amazing too.
I just noticed that theres this v shaped area on the tummy part… like beading or something, it really showcases that area (your tummy) and draws the eyes there. I think it should be plain right there and more beading on the chest/neckline.
That dress does hug you in all the right places though. Is it your favorite? How does it make you feel? If that dress makes you feel like you just won an Oscar and you’re walking down the Red Carpet, than I say get it. If not, I’d like to see another picture in something else.
You have an amazing hour glass shape! The dress is beautiful, but (and I hate saying but) I agree with both jamielee and ejs4yb about the embellishment on the bum and crotch area. It really is RIGHT there and you eyes are drawn to those areas.
My brother is a fashion designer in eveningwear, and when we went dress shopping, he said to be aware of you type of figure, where the eye would be drawn to when looking at you in the dress, and that you are wearing the dress not that the dress is wearing you.
The mermaid style looks very nice on you. You might also want to consider a drop waisted gown too. Just a few thoughts. Ultimately, you need to love the dress so BE HAPPY!
I AGREE WITH SOME OF THE OTHER GIRLS- YOU HAVE A GREAT SHAPE, BUT I THINK THAT THE DROPPE WAIST DEFIANTELY ACCENTUATES YOUR HIPS AND DRAW ATTENTION TO YOUR CROTCH. YOU ALSO CAN SEE YOUR UNDERWEAR LINES, EVEN IN THE SECOND PIC. AND WITH A DRESS LIKE THIS YOU’VE GOTTA BE FLAT STOMACHED ADN TONED TO THE T-
I THINK THAT YOU COULD WEAR A STYLE SIMILAR TO THIS ONE, BUT WITH A SEAM THAT HITS AT THE WAIST RATHER THAN BELOW THE HIPS.
YOU DEFINATELY PICKED A GORGEOUS STYLE THOUGH!!
The back of the dress is fabulous, and the front is not the most flattering because of where the line falls across your hips. I think with a dress just *slightly* different, you’ll have hit hte nail on the head.
I have an hourglass shape, too and I went with a fitted, dropped waist with a slim a-line which is kind of like a mermaid. Just to echo the posts above that dropped waists look awesome on. The mermaids looked good, too (i wanted more poof in a wedding dress but not crazy amoutns) and the drop waist is always really really flattering. It elongates your torso. Ruching is a nice thing to have too. I have some on mine and it’s really flattering.
Just thought I would address some the thoughts posted. This dress has been tried on many times by many people. My consultant said the reason your see those line ( I think someone thought it was a panty line) and some of the other imperfection is because it has been really stretched out. The gathering at the bum is because we tightened the bottom, and pinned it there. So it is gathered there so make the dress tighter at the bottom. I don’t notice the crotch thing and the fam didnt mention anything like that when I bought it. Maybe its "the picture adds 10 pounds" thing. I definitly look bigger in these pics than in real life.
The dress definitely shows off your shape!!
Are you suuuuure its not panty lines- because I swear if I look closely I can see the outline of your undies!! Or, I guess like you said since the fabric has been stretched out it will show any little bump or imperfection! Thats easy to fix though! Grab some Spanx. It will become your new BFF.
well, if it is it’s not a big deal to me because it’s something that can easily be taken care of. Just a line while I tried it on the first time. Thats not really focusing on the dress altogether, thats just any sample dress. And its probably more pronouced because I do look 10 pounds heavier in this pic.
I think that because you have an hourglass figure, I would probably go for a more A-line dress that flatters every shape because I think that the trumpet dress shortens your torso and breaks you up.
I love the back of this dress, but I’m not sure about the front. If you feel excited in the dress, though, then this is the one for you. Go with you gut feeling!
