My ring was inside the egg. I had no idea and it was the loveliest surprise. My hubby had been buying me kinder surprises for a year before he proposed…. This was because I had always said that if he asked me to marry him I couldn’t care less if he asked with a plastic ring from a kinder surprise! Never did get a plastic one haha, but was such a surprise  to see my diamond ring in there! 💗💍

OMG – this is what my fiancé did for my proposal and I loved it!!

It was an old joke (ie 15 years ago when we were 19/21 at university) that if he ever got around to proposing he wouldn’t bother with a ring but would just give me whatever was in a Kinder egg. 😜

He actually hid it in the plastic egg within the chocolate egg (well cushioned with cotton wooling so it didn’t move/rattle) and I loved hearing later how painstaking it was separating the halves and putting the foil back on so it didn’t look like it had been opened. Apparently he went through 3-4 eggs one morning around 2am when I was asleep 😂😍

Just be careful she doesn’t drop the plastic egg/pellet where it could possibly bounce and be lost as I almost did on the top of a 250ft tower! 😱

Hope this has helped and I would totally go for it!!

I would put a plastic ring inside the egg. Then when she sees it and is like – “Huh? This is an odd gift to be in here…” – you can get down on one knee, say what you want to say, and produce the real ring.

Awww. I love these ideas! I think the second idea is perfect for the location. If you were going to be indoors, I might suggest doing the first idea, but I would just be so nervous that she would drop the ring, and you wouldn’t be able to find it. As a clumsy person, this is definitely an issue for me, but maybe your Girlfriend isn’t as clumsy as I am.

slotwima :  Put a note in! This gives you time to get down on one knee, take out the ring, and it will be perfect!

slotwima :  I love kinder eggs. Yay Canada!!!

My dear fellow Canadian. My opinion is nothing. Put nothing in the egg and when she asks where her prize went get down on one knee and open the ring box. 🙂

Love this idea. Agree with the ring going directly into the egg. Then you can get on one knee and propose. I’d rather see the ring as my surprise and hear the words than read them, and I’d also rather hear the words prior to having already read them. Plus as PP mentioned it’s true to the idea behind the kinder egg surprise. More dramatic as well. Good luck! Please update!
