Yes, I know it was trendy 5 years ago and that the hipsters quickly moved on in search of greener pastures… but I loved it before it was trendy and both Darling Husband and I really like it.
Cat association aside, what do you think? Is it trying too hard?

I’m a fan of usual names. I think it’s cute, I would think most kids now wouldn’t even know about felix the cat (who was awesome btw).
It was on my baby name list when I was pregnant. Most people don’t like my names though.

I think it’s great to give kids names that are normal, but maybe not popular, and Felix is fits that description. It won’t be hard for people to spell it or pronounce it.

@Taeyers: Not everyone has a nickname based on their name.

It’s not a name I would use myself but I like it. I don’t thnk it’s too hipster or trendy.

I have nothing against Felix. Even “the cat” isn’t that bad of an association. I like it.

Ah, good to hear people don’t think it’s passe or too trendy. We’re trying to strike a balance between normalcy and uniqueness, but most of those names get snapped up by the urban yummy mummies around here.
@mrsSonthebeach: I agree. It’s so hard finding something that people are familiar with but that isn’t super over-used.
@Taeyers: I don’t think we’d do a nickname…

I love it. Its on my list as well, but then again, I don’t really want kids. So there is one less name taker you’ll have to worry about 😉

I like it. It’s the perfect balance of uncommon but not weird. I have an uncle named Felix and I think he’s always enjoyed the name. I had no idea it was popular a few years back. I don’t know of any babies or kids named Felix.

I like it! It is hard to find a unique name that doesn’t quickly become trendy.
