I’m the most indecisive person and have little creativity. For $2.50 I can rent black resin chairs or for the same price I can use the venue’s folding chairs and pay for chair covers (black polyester and silver satin sash). So, what looks nicer or would you guys prefer at a wedding. If it helps I’m planning to have black poly tablecloths and silver overlays.

I like the simplicity of the first one. I have never been a big fan of chair covers and don’t see the point in the extra expense.

@kfricke89: but its the same price either way? She’s either paying 2.50 for the black chair or 2.50 for the chair covers.
That being said. I would definitely go with the chair covers. The little black folding chairs just look …. kind of, well, lost? plain? I guess. It’s hard to find the right word so I’m just going to go with it kind of looks like its unfinished somehow. Or missing something.
And to me – and I’m probably in the minority & stuck back to something like the 80’s with this thought – BUT to me, chair covers & sashes are pretty much the only decor splurge worth going for, if you can. It just adds so much to the overall look and feel of the event; it automatically ups the “luxury/lush” factor and adds dimension & texture to the room. So yes. I say go with the chair covers & sashes! and btw, I really like your colour scheme for the tables. Very chic!

I would definitely prefer the black resin chairs. I think it looks more tasteful and plus, polyester satin tends to slip around a lot–I don’t find it fun to sit on!

I think the black chairs will look better than chair covers and sashes- I’m not a fan, obviously.

see? I knew I would be in the minority 🙂
@veganglam makes a really good point about the fabric; something I forgot to consider.
Would it be an option to put the silver sashes with the black chairs? Would that even work? :s

I like covers more, but it depends on the whole style of wedding

i like the black resin chairs.. You can put a bow or a sash on them to dress them up if they seem too plain..

I actually like the covers more. I think the chairs the covers would be put on would probably be more comfortable (padded) and I think it looks like there was a lot of thought put into the deecor. Plus if it’s the exact same price then I would do it!

i don’t like chair covers, so i like the simplicity of the resin chair.

I’m a big fan of chair covers, too :). I love that they make everything match and tie everything in.

Typically I don’t like chair covers but in this case I prefer them to the resin chair. I think its because I typically see that style chair outdoors and I think it might look out of place.

Oh boy this is tough! I like everyone’s input. I just didn’t want the black chairs to loojk plain and out of place since they are typically used outdoors. To add sashes to the resin chairs would add to the cost which I already find to be too much…but I’m thinking I can at least do every other resin chair with a silver sash to add color and make them look less out of place.
Thank You All!

I don’t like chair covers. I like the simple clean lines of the black chair.

I also debated this issueb back and forth and decided to just go ahead with chair covers, even though i originally said I hated chair covers. I got a great deal on self tie covers and its much less hassle for me to just put chair covers on than have all those chairs delivered. I chose self-tie covers because I’m not crazy about the regular chair cover and sash combo
