I got a positive with the Clearblue digital OPK’s this am with FMU. I tested again at 7pm with the Target cheapies, and there was barely a second line. So first test at 8 am, second at 7pm. Is it possible I had a falsepositive? The app on my phone says I’m due to O on Thursday.Still going to BD tonight, but curious….

My understanding is that the test wouldn’t pick up LH if it wasn’t there, so I doubt it was a false positive in that sense… However, I do believe you could have a false LH surge (especially if you have PCOS) where your body tried to o but didn’t. It’s also very possible that you caught the tail end of a surge this morning. Did you test yesterday evening? Are you temping or tracking CM?

@78h2o: I agree, it’s probably not a false positive in a normal sense…whether you actually O’d or not, it picked up the LH.
Do you chart? A sustained temp rise will confirm that ovulation has occured (as opposed to just the LH surging but an egg not being released.)
Sometimes I O’d before FF or TCOYF predicted I would, so it’s entirely possible (and probable) that you’ll O sometime tomorrow (which is only a day before your app predicted anyway). I’ve had months where my OPK has gone from + to – in the span of about 6 hours. Good thing you tested this AM!

You may have caught the end of your surge with the positive morning test and by the evening the surge was over, hence the negative test.
