So I decided to use opk this month and I got a positive test result this morning! Now my husband is at work all day and I have to work tonight. I could take the first couple of hours of my shift off so that we have time to BD when he gets home or I could take the first few hours off tommorrow night but I don’t know what would be better timing. We BD last night before the test turned positive and the night before that as well. So I am wondering if I should let him take tonight off to get his count up….or if that might be waiting to long! What should I do?? I need to know fast becuase I would have to call in with in the next little while

@missstarling: If you BD’d last night you can wait until tomorrow….thats probably when you will ovulate anyway!

@missstarling: Since you got a positive OPK this morning that means you will O within the next 12-24 hours. From what I read it takes between 6-12 hours for the sperm to get to the egg so if your looking to get another BD session in then you should do it asap. I think tomorrow will be too late. Since you’ve BD the past couple days I think you should be ok but it never hurts to put in your all! Good luck 🙂

Its too late for me to call in now…. but I am hoping that we might get in another session tommorrow morning before he goes to work after I get off… lol

Actually you ovulate from 24-72 hours after a positive OPK. I was always on the 3rd day like clockwork. I would continue your EOD BD sessions…

Every other day seems like a great way to go. That’s usually the best advice when you don’t know when you’ll ovulate.

You can O as early as 12 hours after the first + OPK. I always do. 24-48 hours is when most women will O, but it can be as early as 12 hours OR as late as 72 hours.
OP, since you BD’d the last two days you can chill out. You have covered your bases already, and more cerrtainly won’t hurt, so BD when you can, but don’t stress out about it. As long as you had fertile CM when you BD’d you’ve already got it covered. 2 days before O is actually the most likely day to BD for conception.

did you ladies keep using your opks once you seen a positive or did you stop when you seen it turn positive. I got 3 left and don`t know if i should keep testing

@missstarling: I tested until I got another negative. That way I knew for a fact that the surge had in fact passed and confirmed ovulation with charting.
I wouldn’t wait until tomorrow night, definitely don’t push it past tomorrow morning. Best of luck!

@missstarling: I keep testing until I get a negative – only because I never get a blatant positive on my wondfos. The test line is only slightly darker than the control. I always hope I will get a clear positive.

I also keep testing until I get a negative. I usually get three positive OPK’s in a row. I always O on the second day (24 hours after I get my first positive).
