Just for the sake of it, I used a OPK test yesterday around 7 pm, and there was a lighter test line. Also, I had large amounts of egg white mocus (sorry). Today, I tested again around 11 am, and the test line was even lighter than yesterday’s. My egg white mocus still there. Could I have ovulated even with a negative test? Should I re-test?

Your surge could last up to 12 hours. The test line has to be as dark or darker then the control line. I normally get a positive OPK two days before I actually ovulate. This could be the case for you as well.

it’s possible you actually ovulated the day before you tested?
that’s why you still had fertile CM signs, but a negative OPK?
btw, the ideal time to test is around 2pm, for the future.

It’s completely normal to have EWCM for a few days before ovulation, so keep testing! Neither fertile CM, nor a positive OPK confirms ovulation, so I would continue to have sex regularly (every other day or so) until your get a positive OPK and then for a few days after that.
ETA: I just checked my chart, and I had EWCM for three days before getting a positive OPK.
