Ok so last cycle was my first off BCP, so I don’t have too much to go off of. I am charting, checking CM, temping, and using OPKs to verify everything. We are TTA so I want to make sure I can read my cycle before we use fam/nfp for birth control. Last cycle, I had EWCm on CD 10-11, and I got a positive OPK on CD 12 in the afternoon. Then, fertility friend said I o’d on CD 14. Makes sense. Then this cycle, I am on CD 10 and am having EWCM today. I took an OPK this morning at 7am (very negative) and then after finding the EWCM, decided to check again at 3:30 pm. this one was not quite positive, but the test line is very close to the same color as the control line. How often should I take OPKs to check when I am ovulating? I know the LH surge isn’t super long, and I want to make sure I don’t miss it with my wondfos, but I also don’t want to waste a million sticks by over-testing. Should I test at like 10pm? Or wait and use fmu tomorrow morning? Thanks in advance, I’m just trying to get used to all of this 🙂

Most people around these boards test twice a day, morning (sometime before noon) and again at night (after dinner sometime). That way, you don’t miss your surge if it’s on the shorter side.
Thats what’s nice about the wondfros – they are cheap so you can test twice a day and not feel guilty 🙂

Before I started IUI, I used to test every other day, twice a day. First think in the morning (which a lot of people say its not recommendable, but I liked to pee on sticks lol) and after work around 6sh. This way you dont miss your surge. GL lady 🙂

I agree. Test twice a day. Once in later morning (not FMU) like 9-10am. And then again later evening 6-8pm. That way you hopefully won’t miss your surge if it’s short.

I usually start testing 2-3 days before my FW. For me I usually ovulate between CD12-19 depending on the month, so I usually start testing once in the afternoon CD9/10, then 2 times a day once I start having fertile signs then 3 times a day when I get my first positive until I get two negatives.

During CD 10 and later, I test pretty much every time I pee. I seem to only get 1 positive OPK a cycle. But I do drink a lot of water, so I think my urine is very diluted.
