So I’m pretty horrible at making decisions that involve other people lol AND that is why I would LOVE for some thoughts from you lovely ladies 🙂
**So I have decided that my bridesmaids and Maid/Matron of Honor will all be wearing shades of some color, and pick whatever dresses they want and that fit in their budget. Basically I just want it to be in different shades of the color we go with….**
Here are my three options of what I would like to see for the bridal party:
Option 1: All girls get shades of purple dresses, and they wear grey converse (I would wear purple converse with this option..they would have some bling, and probably stitch the day of the wedding in teal on them to be different)
Option 2: All girls get shades of purple dresses, and they wear sparkly silver toms (I would wear toms with this option)
Option 3: All girls get shades of grey dresses, and they wear purple converse (I would wear purple converse with this option…same as above option 1)
or OTHER… (thoguhts???)
**I am also trying to think how I could get Maid/Matron of Honor to stand out a bit… these were my thoughts: giving her sash with sparkle or different color, having her wear a teal necklace or teal hair piece, or adding teal sparkles in her bouquet**
Our colors are purple, teal, and grey if this helps
OH and what would ya’ll think about the wedding party all wearing either purple or teal sunglasses….???

Ok. What is your theme? What color are the Groomsmen wearing?
Based on the information you gave, I personally would prefer the 2nd option- I like TOMS and what they stand for and I think that makes a statement, even on your wedding day. Also, since the girls will be wearing different colors, you don’t want it to get TOO busy (different color dresses, sunglasses, etc.), so I would vote no to sunglasses unless they wore them during the entrance to the reception or only at the reception.
You can have your made of honor stand out with jewelry, not the sash.

@SimplyKia: Thank you for the reply!!! And yes I love toms too 🙂 the Groomsmen will be wearing grey slacks, white button ups, and some sort of purple and teal tie, best man will be wearing purple suspenders too…. We don’t have a specific theme, but we are having stars, and wine bottles with wine glasses as part of our centerpieces. The wedding is fairly sem-casual
And I like the jewelry idea too…something extra I can buy for her to say thank you…

Toms for sure – I love converse but I don’t think they work with dresses.
I love the sunglasses idea, I think it would make for cute pictures and it’s such a so cal thing – but I’m a sucker for fun sunglasses, especially with dresses and fancy clothing. I was assuming the wedding party wouldn’t wear them during the ceremony though – sounds cheesy but if it were me I’d want to look into their eyes and feel their support at that time.

@4cube: Yeah I was thinking it would be fun to have the glasses, but I’m still not set on the idea because I definitely don’t want them wearing them during the ceremony…. Thank you for your response I appreciate it 🙂

@mm13: personally, I would hate to wear Converse or Toms as a bridesmaid. And I know many of my friends would feel the same way. Maybe at the reception. Are the dresses long enough to cover the shoes? I get that it is trendy, but do you think looking back you will like the look?
Also, you might want to look into the actual benefits of the Toms brand. There have been a lot of recent news regarding the brand and how much help they truly offer. Basically, the free shoes actually take away business from Africans who are selling shoes for a living. I’ll look for the article.

@Krpink: I had not heard that about the toms… I definitely want to look into that then… mmm and I had not really thought about what the bridesmaids would like tbh… they are gonna be wearing shorter dresses…. I guess I just figured that I don’t like wearing heels, so I wanted the girls to wear something similar to what I am wearing….
