I’m specifically asking girls from southern california, orange county this question…
Knowing that August can either be SCORCHING HOT or 75-80 plesent, if it a bad idea to put my men in tuxedos with vests and bow ties?
The ceremony is over looking San clemente peir at the casa romantica, so there may or may not be a nice ocean breeze.
I really want navy bow ties and vests. I think they looks so classy and dashing. My groom will be in a ivory vest and a black bow tie. Plus I want my guys to look different from the guests and stand out.
The girls will be in long strapless navy blue gowns.
Is this going to just ruin the wedding? Is it look heavy for an august wedding?

What time is your ceremony? San Clemente can get hot in August but it’s not humid. My guys are wearing tuxes in LA in August, but our ceremony is at 6pm.

Our ceremony will be at 4:30-5
Thats true, it’s a dry heat. Dry heat isn’t too bad.

My fiance had to wear a full tux/vest for a friend’s wedding a few years ago during a heat wave at the beginning of Sept in Fullerton. He said the worst part was having to wear the full tux for the hours of pictures outside during the full heat of the noon hour (think 105 degrees, yuk!). He also said it was unbearable because there was no where nearby that had air-conditioning. That being said, he never said a thing to our friends because in the end a little bit of suffering is fine for close friends.
So I guess just remember that the guys will have to wear them for longer than just the ceremony if you are planning outside pics. If there’s a place nearby that has air-conditioning I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all to ask them to wear the full tux for short amounts of time if it’s what you really want. And yah, I think Casa Romantica in San Clemente shouldn’t be too bad with the ocean breeze.

I think you should be fine if its at 4:30-5 and that close to the beach. Sounds beautiful!
