I cannot believe how much I have flip flopped over all of these little details.
I have been through ideas like mad, about everything including photography, colors, centerpieces, favors, etc.
I have considered everything from incense to candles, to wooden bowls, and now, potted orchids.
Our original favor/centerpiece idea was 4 potted orchids as centerpieces, with one orchid per couple (four on each table, eight people at each table) as a favor.
We had recently abandoned that idea for wooden bowls filled with loose orchids and a candle, that could also double as a place setting and decorative component… though, we are using bamboo plates so the wood element is not something we can’t lose, because we’ll have it anyway. If we did this we would only use 2 orchids, for cost purposes, and do something like the sticker under the seat to take the orchids home, but I am not crazy about the whole game vibe.
Now, we are back on the idea of potted orchids. I think that it might cost around the same amount of money (or just slightly more) to buy double the amount of orchids and use them as a fuller centerpiece and favors as it would to buy the wooden bowls.
I know that not everyone will love an orchid, but I don’t think that every single person will love any favor we choose.
I anticipate to have minimal people who are OOTers… but we will also have things like personalized match boxes around and possibly coasters or something that will be easy to transport.
Anyway, I guess Im just looking for thoughts and input on the favor idea.
What do you think of potted orchids as favors as opposed to something else?
