I love, love orchids. They can be pricey so we only did them on half the tables.

@Amethyst: OMG! Love this.

@mishelleez: This is my same inspiration pic. I am doing it almsot exactly the same. The smaller vases works for our cocktail style dinner.

@808mjm202 & @elliestan – thanks! it is from my wedding in April. I am attaching a couple more pics too.

It was 2 stems of Phalaenopsis wrapped in wire with a stem or two of mokara orchids submerged. My tip for orchids would be to ask about the different types with your florist, some species are cheaper than others. Our other flowers were anemones and sweet pea. Oh and the last pic is an inspiration pic that I loved.

@elliestan – thanks! I am a purple girl 🙂 I believe they are the mokara type as well. That was my best guess. But you could get a similar effect with the dendrobium type too (another inspration pic below of the dendrobium. Can you tell I was super into finding flowers 🙂 ?

Mine ended up pretty expensive but mostly because we had to buy all the vases as well.  We had 4 vases per table.  For 12 guest tables just for the centerpieces was $1920. [attachment=1354871,172113]

I’m using preserved orchids from http://www.save-on-crafts.com/ and using mazanita branches (don’t know if I spelt that right) from ebay. I purchased dollar vases at dollartree.com. I’m using the white smooth rocks from dollartree as well. It will look like this but nicer at the bottom. I’m still thinking about what to do around it. Thought maybe mirror with diamond confetti and some votives.
