(Closed) Order of the procession….

You’re certainly welcome to have everyone process in whatever order you wish, but it is more common for the grandmothers and mothers to lead the processional off first. (It doesn’t hurt that this enables Grandma to sit down faster!) Also, unless you have a ton of bridesmaids and groomsmen, I’d recommend sticking to only one piece of music for everyone prior to the bride; otherwise it could feel choppy. Here was our order of processional:

Bride’s grandmother (escorted by an usher)

Bride’s mother (escorted by an usher)

Groom’s mother (escorted by the groom) – groom’s father following immediately behind, by himself

Bridesmaid and best man

Bridesmaid and groomsman

Maid of honor (by herself; we had an uneven bridal party)

Bride (escorted by her father)
