I tried on and loved a dress at salon today. It was not my size so they clipped it back (and hence, didn’t see the back). I ordered it and paid deposit. Once I got back I saw the dress has a keyhole opening in back. If I would have known this, I would have not ordered it. Called salon back and they said I should just “patch it”. And oh yeah, this is a lace back, so it would probably look horrible. They are ordering it on Monday, so i don’t know what to do. Oh yes, the wedding is August, so not much time left.

havfrue: Phone the salon the minute that the salon is open Monday-BEFORE THEY CAN SUBMIT THE ORDER- and ask to speak with the manager. Tell her what happened and ask that your order not be submitted. Tell her you will come in and select an alternate dress.
Telling you that you can patch the keyhole is absurd.

Salon is in LA and I’m in San Francisco. I’ll have to go to another salon here and try them all over again. Just want to make sure I’m not being irrational.

I flew to LA so I could go shopping with my mom.

Yeah…I would call them ASAP and have them cancel the order. As long as they haven’t put the order in with the designer, you should be fine to cancel.

If you don’t like the dress, then cancel the order. I’m sure they can work something out.

Cancel the order. They hadn’t ordered it yet. Don’t let them coerce you.

havfrue: If they haven’t ordered it yet and you don’t like it, tell them to cancel. That shouldn’t be a big deal. It’s your dress, so you should get something you’re happy with.

Awww you really don’t like the keyhole back?! It’s so prettyyyyyyyy!

Thanks all. I’m waiting for them to open and hopefully I can sort something out. They made me sign and initial this whole document about how I was ordering the dress and couldn’t take it back/cancel – but I would just change my order over the phone with them. Hopefully this works. And yes, the keyhole back is pretty but it really doesn’t suit our wedding.
