Okay. First of all, let me just say that I might be completely paranoid and I’m aware of this. After discussing back and forth over e-mail for over a week, seeing pictures of the dress on her, doing pretty much everything but talking to her on the phone (which I now wish I had), I purchased my dress through PayPal from a OnceWed bride. It’s a BNWT Maggie Sottero Vogue, Diamond White and Champagne over Light Gold, size 4, PERFECT dress for me… except… I don’t have it yet 🙁 She hasn’t even mailed it yet. I sent the payment Monday. She responded on Tuesday and said she would not be able to get it that night, but she would send it first thing tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Okay, no problem, I said. I checked with her Wednesday night, and she said she hadn’t been able to send it out, it was at her parents and she’d be there this weekend and would send it then. Okay, no problem, I said again. I checked with her today and she said she didn’t “get to it” this weekend, so she’d try to send it out today or first thing tomorrow morning. It’s partly, less than 10%, that I’m really eager to get my dress and have it on, but it’s 90% that I’ve sent this woman $820 and you would think that, in and of itself, would make mailing the dress a priority. Am I being too… paranoid? Witchy? What should I do? How long should I wait before I… do what?

Um no. You are not paranoid/crazy anything! How rude of her to actually accept the payment in full and not do anything about it- and then proceed to put you off more than 2 times! You have been too nice already, I would definately email her explaining your feelings– that you have sent a large amount of money to her and are really uncomfortable that she isnt following through with her end of it! I get that she may not have gotten to it within the first 24-36 hours, but almost a week later is a bit excessive, and more importantly poor business etiquette.

Is it possible she was waiting for the payment to clear? I’ve had sellers tell me they ship after payment is clear and it can take a few days.
Unless she’s a business woman (which I don’t think she is–just a random lady selling her dress, right?) it’s possible she didn’t run to the PO right away. She said she’d do it by Wednesday…if she hasn’t, tell her you’ll cancel on her if it’s not in the mail within X hours.
Get a confirmation code. Otherwise, how will you know when she DOES send it?

I would probably give it a little more time before panicking yet. I know that I’m not always able to get everything done that i had hoped to in each day. I would give it another week or so and if she hasn’t sent it then I would start worrying a little.

I would wait a few more days and then tell her that you want shipping confirmation with a tracking number by x date or you will dispute the sale with pay pal. But it has only been a week, I would give her until at least Wednesday before you say anything again, and then give her a deadline of Friday.

I’d be concerned but I wouldn’t panic just yet. Give her until the end of the week. It seems to me that she just isn’t organized and getting this dress out isn’t at the top of her priority list but I’m sure she’ll ‘get to it’. Hang in there!

Paypal has a refuund policy. If you dont get it you can dispute it and they will pull the money back out of her bank account if you are a Payal veriified member. I think you should be ok. Panic after 2 weeks and no mailing. 🙂 She should have not told you that she was sending it that day. Unfortunatley things happen and since you are buying from a person rather than a business the customer service thing will vary from person to person. Kepp us updated on the status.

Just so you have some piece of mind, PayPal doesn’t release the funds to her until she has submitted shipping information to them (yes it comes out of your account but it’s held until she submits the shipping info).
This isn’t to say she won’t try to do something, but I would give it until the weekend and if she still hasn’t mailed it contact paypal and the site she listed it on (just think how busy things can get during the week with work, school, extra stuff, etc. Not that this is a excuse for not sending it when she said she would, but I’m just giving you other reasons why it may not have been sent yet).

My payment has already cleared. I’ve confirmed that with her and with PayPal. Dress wasn’t sent yesterday… hopefully today. *fingers crossed*

Okay. I got an e-mail from her that said she’d sent it, but now she’s saying she couldn’t send it with a tracking number because she sent it USPS…? She said she did get delivery confirmation so that I would have to sign for it… but how am I going to have a clue when to be here to sign for it if I don’t have any kind of tracking number? Now I feel way paranoid, but this feels strange to me. Not to mention that I specifically asked her to have it sent with a tracking number… bah. Cross your fingers for me!

USPS still gives a tracking number. I track everything I order online through either the FEDEX, UPS, or USPS apps for iPhone.

usually when they get a delivery confirmation, they have a tracking number on the slip. It’s sounding kind of fishy that she couldn’t get a tracking number when the whole delivery confirmation has a tracking number. Did she say what form of shipping she bought, like how long will it take for it to arrive? I would say if it doesn’t arrive within that time frame I owuld contact paypal and get your money back.

USPS gives tracking numbers, you just have to pay extra. I’d ask her for clarification.

Agreed. It is weird that she couldn’t give you a tracking num b/c I receive packages from USPS w/tracking numbers. How far away does this person live away from you? This sounds really suspicious, all you can do is hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Maybe it would help if she could send you the slip that she filled out… it wouldn’t be unreasonable at all to ask for this. You need proof!

I would give it a week to get there. If it does not arrive I would open a dispute with Paypal. YOU MUST DO THIS WITHIN A SHORT TIME. I think it’s 30 days but I would check and make sure it’s not less. It may be like 15 days or something. They will stand behind you. She must prove it’s been sent or they will refund your money. & USPS does do tracking. You need to be on this woman like glue.
