Can someone explain to me why the lady told me I need an inch to 2 space between the ends for my seamstress to insert hooks? I’m getting it made so that it can be a belt but if I give her my waist measurements minus 1 or 2 inches, won’t that mean the beading won’t go all the way around? The seller tried explaining to me that the hooks won’t be visible, etc, but I still don’t understand it. Has anyone else done this before?

I would just email her and ask if the beading will go all the way around. It sounds like it won’t, if it’s on satin? Mine went all the way around, and the hooks were built into the beading.

is it the kind of belt that doesn’t tie up, but rather just hooks into the lacing or something at the back of your dress? If it’s a corset back dress, maybe by giving your waist measurement and then subtracting an inch, it means the belt with just hook into the corset back, rather than tie up

@MrsTVLover: I did and she said it’d go all the way around and the hooks won’t be visible and that’s why I’m confused. Would you happen to have a close-up picture of your belt? I’d love to see how yours was.
@MrsPhilly: Mine isn’t a corset back dress. It’s got buttons instead, but you have a point. Maybe she thinks I plan on just hooking it onto the dress.
