I am getting married at the Methuen Music Hall in November and I’m considering having an organist. But, the quotes I have received have been kind of high, in my opnion, $300 and up. Is this typical? Does anyone have an organist they can recommend for less? Thanks for your help!

@tresim36: I am getting married in a Catholic church in Buffalo and the organist that plays there is $200 for the wedding so $300 doesn’t sound completely unreasonable. It could also depend on the area of the country. I would think they might be cheaper than a string quartet? Are the reccommendations the venue could give you? 🙂 Good luck and happy planning!

I am getting married in Boston and the organist will cost $300. But another place we looked even cost more than that, I think $350. So $300 sounds reasonable. Also you should ask if that includes playing for the rehearsal, sometimes that can be another $100 or $150. If it’s included then $300 total is very reasonable.
