    My closet goes:

    Tube tops, lightest to darkest

    Tank tops, lightest to darkest

    Work tops, lightest to darkest

Short Sleeve Shirts, lightest to darkest

    L/S Shirts Lightest to darkest

Sweaters, Work Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Jeans and Cardigans are all folded down.

EDIT: I do this because it helps me find what I’m looking for 🙂

Both! And by person because Fiance and I share a closet.

    One closet rack has:

    • My long sleeve shirts (rainbow order: white, pink, red, coral, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, black, grey, brown [with multiple shades in as reasonable order as possible), tank tops (rainbow order), short sleeve shirts (rainbow order), dresses (rainbow order), skirts (rainbow order),

    The other two have:

    • My dress pants, blazers and suits which are are next to FI’s dress pants and suits. He has a rack of long sleeve shirts in rainbow order (which he claims makes it no easier to find the right shirt) and a rack of polos sleeve shirts in rainbow order.

    I have 3 drawers

    • one with socks, underwear and nightgowns (in rough sections)
    • one with bras (rainbow order)
    • one with pants and shorts (divided by stack into sweatpants, yoga pants, work jeans, non-work jeans, soffee shorts, and jean shorts)

    His three drawers are

    • Sweaters
    • More sweaters
    • Shorts

We also have drawers in the closet

    • His dress socks
    • His casual socks
    • His white tshirts
    • His boxers and pajama pants
    • My tank tops
    • My skirts and nonhangable shirts
    • My belts
    • His belts
    • more of his belts

On the shelves in the closet are his jeans, his jeans that don’t fit (different shelf from ones that do fit), his T-shirts

We also have under the bed storage for his clothes that don’t fit

…….And our front closet has jackets, sweatshirts and coats, one drawer of my gloves/scarves/hats, one drawer of his gloves/scarves/hats and the shoes are on the floor of that closet and one drawer for shoe inserts and umbrellas.

Whew thats a lot of clothes. Did I mention halloween costumes and formal dresses are in the spare closet?

Sort of by type and sort of by other. I keep dress clothes and jackets/coats separate from my casual clothing, but that is it. Otherwise it is organized by when I washed them! The freshest clothes get put in on the right and everything shifts down to the left.

My closet is divided into two sides, work clothes and casual/weekend clothes.  Then each side I do by type/sleeve length. I try to then do lightest to darkest within each sleeve length but that doesn’t always happen.

I sort by color and type. For example, Black long sleeve shirts would be first, then short sleeves. Pants are hung on skirt hangers by color. Dresses and skirts are in a different closet because I don’t wear them as much.

I sort by type then color within each type.  And I have my suits all separated from everything else.

Oh dear.. anybody want to come and sort my closet??? Ours are NOT sorted in any way type, shape or form… Most of our clothes end up hainging out in the laundry room until we wear it again… or… somebody is coming over and we need it to look tidy! 😉

I sort by type (so I can easily go to the section I want, like dresses, and then decide what to wear from there), and everything faces to the left (no particular reason except aesthetics I guess!)

Mine are basically sorted by type.  I don’t own enough of anything to sort by color…!  I guess sports bras…I have one in every color!
