Haven’t written in a while. I am diy’ing a candy buffet for our engagement party my parents are throwing for us. We are having about 154 people and I have six kinds of candy already, however I really want these cookies that my fiance and I used to get from this cookie place. I have organza bags that would fit the cookies but I was wondering if anyone had experience with cookies in these bags and how the cookies weathered in them. Did they crumble or not play nice with the candy?

I don’t have experience, but I wouldn’t take cookies in an organiza bag. I’d rather have a food grade bad like something plastic or wax paper?

Were doing a sweets buffet with candy, cookies, fudge and shortbread.
We decided on glassine bags. We bought a really cute stamp and stamped them and they look adorable. They are made for food so I think they will work well.

I probably wouldn’t do an organza bag for cookies/baked goods either. The butter/oils in the cookies may “leak” through the organza. It’s like when you buy cookies and they put it in a paper sleeve; there’s still the ring of oil. I would err on the side of clear cellophane bags or wax paper bags. If you are concerned about keeping the cookies from crushing/smashing, I would go with small boxes or Chinese takeout containers.

thanks for the help bees. I never thought of the oils seeping onto the fabric as lilbluebird said. So I guess I need to find wax bags 🙂 where to look…
