If you are planning to go to Universal Islands of Adventure to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (sorry for all the specifics- I used to work there lol), You could stay at one of the connecting hotels. They are pricey- but nice! It depends what kind of couple you are as far as which you want to stay at though. The Hard Rock is good if you like to party. They blast music under the water and have an awesome bar. However if you want something more romantic then I suggest the Portafino. It is beautiful and much calmer. Staying at any of the 3 hotels will give you an express pass (your room key) for the rides in the park and let you get more our of your days there. Have fun!

I’m from Orlando and here are a few suggestions beyond the theme parks:

– Texas de Brazil (all you can eat MEAT!)

– Cafe Tu Tu Tango (tapas and awesome sangria)

– Victoria and Alberts (in the Grand Floridian hotel at Disney) – my Fiance took me here after he proposed…very romantic and expensive but great for a honeymoon!

– The Ravenous Pig – Winter Park area – this is North of the theme parks and a locally owned favorite of locals 🙂

– Seasons 52 (started in Orlando and owned by Darden – a healthy and very nice place to eat).

-Columbia – in Celebration. AMAZING cuban bread and mojitos. Love this place.

– I have heard the Universal hotels (as mentioned previously) are fabulous. And you get a fast pass so you don’t have to wait in line for rides nearly as long!

– Downtown Orlando has a fun night life. Check out Ember and Wall Street to party a bit late night. Hamburger Mary’s downtown has great burgers!

– Park Avenue in Winter Park. Cute street of small restaurants and shops. Try Kilwins for icecream and chocolates 🙂

– Take the 45 minute drive to Titusville and go sky diving. They have the highest tandum jump in the world at 18,000 feet and the view of the ocean and Kennedy Space center is AMAZING!

– If the Orlando Magic are in basketball season when you come our brand new arena is a ton of fun!

– Blue Man group are at Universal and cirque du soleil is at Disney. Very fun shows!

That’s all I have for now. Hope that helps 🙂 Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions!
