zebra10 :  I’ve never seen progesterone cream OTC, are you in the USA?

misskate18 :  Curious, what is the link between vitex and depression?

I’ve been following this thread. Second month charting now. My previous chart indicated that I had a 8 day LP but that’s probably due to the fact that I started charting later in my cycle and didn’t have enough data points.

I got what I’m assuming to be EWCM all through yesterday on CD 19 and sure enough a huge spike this morning (CD20). I’m waiting to see if this spike progresses to confirm O, I’ll be quite happy if it does because that would mean a 10 day LP – much better than 8 days. I’m wondering if a 10 day LP is enough and whether I should go on Vitex or Vitamin B soon.

zebra10 :  yay for one day longer!! I’m still awaiting crosshairs, we had really good timing this month (helps when FW is on a weekend!). If my LP is ever 11 days I will definitely be peeing on all the sticks, I usually get spotting anywhere from day 8-9 PO!! I have an appt with my GP in April, when I went in for colposcopy recently I mentioned my short lp and lack of real period and he said I feel I don’t get pregnant this cycle or next to get a referral for work up (I’m 33).

Hey Bee, just wanted to give some positive thoughts for your journey! I have 22 day cycles and my LP is normally 8 days long. When I got pregnant in September, I had my progesterone checked at 21 DPO without knowing I was pregnant and it was very low. I ended up losing that pregnancy, but got pregnant again in November. I used a natural organic progesterone cream after ovulation until I received a BFP and them asked to be on progesterone suppositories. Now I am 14 weeks pregnant, and things are going really well! It is definitely possible to get pregnant with a shorter LP and I wish you luck and love on this journey to motherhood. ❤

8-10 day LP, although I don’t ever get solid crosshairs only dotted ones so maybe sometimes I’m not ovulating or FF is picking the wrong date.

I always get spotting the day before but sometimes 2 days before.

i had one chemical pregnancy 7 months ago, I wasn’t tracking ovulation that cycle but had fairly heavy implantation bleeding (needed thin pads for 3 days) which was still light for my cycle (7 days and much heavier). I thought the IB was my period just out of whack but I started getting symptoms a few days later and BFP. 3 days later I started bleeding and BFN.

My theory is low progesterone is the reason I’m still TTC 14 months in and possibly why I had my CP. levels are getting checked in March.

greywacke :  I haven’t been able to find any legitimate peer-reviewed research on the subject, but a few articles I’ve read written by naturopaths mention that Vitex can cause depression symptoms to worsen. It’s something to do with the Vitex increasing progesterone and lowering dopamine levels.

Not solid enough info to completely rule it out IMO – like I’d want to discuss it with a fertility specialist – but enough evidence for me to avoid it unless it’s recommended by a specialist. My psychiatrist always asks me to run supplements or herbs by her before I start taking them in case of possible interactions with antidepressants or effects on depression and anxiety.

zebra10 :  what cycle are you? I’m the most chill this cycle too. Had a little temp dip today, but only 4DPO so not implantation…
