while this wedding was very pretty (I looked at all the pictures) In my opinion it was way over done for my taste. I dont think there is any need to think you need to compete with that at all!! The venue is very pretty in itsself, your dont need feathers and dancers to make in nice.

I looked through all of the pictures and it is a GORGEOUS venue…Congrats for snagging it.

I will say that the wedding you are referring to looks quite a bit OVERDONE in my opinion. I think the beautiful venue does a lot for a wedding all on it’s own. I don’t think your wedding will look sad in such a pretty place.

@Jenbee: I promise I didn’t copy your post. We must have been typing around the same time and I was too busy goofing off here at work to post it when you did.

Lovely venue.  I think good wedding pictures make everything look snazzy.

Question: what was with the ballet dancers? Did they dance before she came down the isle? A little weird. I LOVE ballet and I am still weirded out by this.

@Meowkers: Woah, that was interesting *ahem* the dancers etc. The venue is gorgeous, and I’m sure there has to have been an even MORE OTT wedding there previous to this or since then. So there will always be bigger and better. Can you even imagine?

I thought it was quite a striking wedding. I think it reflects the brides quirks and strengths and even though it’s “over the top” it’s not cheesy.

BUT, I think your wedding will be equally gorgeous and you should not worry.  The bride and groom inject their personality and flavor into every venue. Seeing as that you’re a Bee, I’m sure it will be awesome.

I think that wedding is so amazing, but it also looks like a performance rather than a wedding. I think you can’t compare any wedding to something like that.

Oh, wow.  Please don’t compare your wedding to this one shown in the pics!  There are some elements of this wedding that are pretty, I guess, but others are just downright bizarre!  I’m sure it cost a fortune and the couple loved it, and I suppose there are people who would think this wedding is the greatest, but I guarantee you there are just as many people who would prefer a simple, more traditional wedding than this wedding/circus/theatrical production shown in these pictures!  The venue itself looks amazing.  So you should be happy you are getting married here!  If you ask me, all the stuff this couple threw into their wedding kind of takes away from the venue (and from the fact that it’s their wedding).

@Meowkers: It definitely was a wedding with lots of personality, slightly over the top. Since our wedding, we’ve attended a few others. I admittedly compare them because I’m human. One Indian one was bright, colorful, yet warm with the personality of the couple. I attended another equally high production (wedding planners, no DIY) one that didn’t have a trace of the couple’s personality in it whatsoever. It felt like another high production wedding without any heart. If your wedding makes you happy and reflects you guys as a couple, then all is good! When I attend weddings without any feeling of the couple, it’s just another production wedding with beautiful linens, etc.

The only part of that wedding that wow-ed me was the venue itself, so…lucky you! You get you have your wedding there.

Okay, first did you look at the magazine this wedding was featured in. This is a platnium wedding magazine. Now on to the wedding to me it was way too over the top. The venue is gorgeous and you should let it shine not try to top this way too over the top wedding.

i think it’s overdone as well. pretty for those whose style it may be, but definitely different, which i’m sure it is what the bride was going for. but i honestly think it looked like they were trying to hard. i love weddings that seem so effortlessly beautiful. don’t worry about your wedding, it is going to be beautiful!

@Meowkers: lol I stopped at the mime in the mask thing. That is creepy to me and not grand! Don’t compare your wedding to someone elses. Someone is always going to have more than us, so there is no point in trying to compete. Your wedding will be fine…and I hope not full of creepy mimes in masks. Plus, that wedding looks like a show and not a wedding. You don’t need a big production. Your guests are there to see you and not creepy mimes in masks. lol
