That makes me so nervous about putting an order through teambuy right now. I feel so bad that you had to go through this and hopefully you can atleast lodge a serious complaint with dealfind.

Wow, that is so terrible. I’m so sorry that happened to you! I used to work at The Spa Day Retreat in Kanata and I can assure you that they’re awesome if you’re looking for a place to go. Mahogany Spa is also another great option in Carp.

Thank you for the head’s up. I’m not from Ottawa but getting married there and was looking around for a good place for mani pedis. I’ll find somewhere else.  Let me know if you have success with another place as I am clueless!

Wow.  Good to know.  I live in Ottawa and am always looking for new places to try manis, pedis, etc.  I appreciate when people provide a review, whether positive or negative!

Hello everyone – I am not a bride to be (married for 11 years) but stumbled upon this site when I was checking out reviews for Oasis Salon and Spa in Carp/Stittsville.  I too fell victim to the DealFind voucher for a shellac manicure, shellac pedicure and hot stone massage and bought one for myself and one for my friend for her birthday back in January.  It took until yesterday to actually have our appointments…after months of persistent calling and leaving messages.  Finally my friend was able to speak to someone other than the man who periodically answers and says he can’t make appointments but that he’d have “Jennifer” call us back.  We both took the day off work since it was the only appointment time we could get.  Frankly I was surprised that our appointments didn’t get cancelled and was even more surprised that when we showed up the place was actually open. However, it didn’t take long for things to turn sour.  “Jennifer” (I assume) greeted us and told us we’d have to reschedule our massages as her other employee was pregnant and not feeling well and would have to go home but we could still proceed with our manis and pedis.  We were not pleased and after letting her know what an inconvenience it was for us, we managed to rebook our massages within a couple of weeks – on a Saturday no less!  Anyway, she lead us to the area where we’d get our treatments and were told that we’d have to take turns having our services done – my friend to start with her pedicure and me with my manicure then we’d switch because they didn’t have enough drying machines to do us both at the same time.  Huh?!  What “Spa” doesn’t have enough dryers to do two friends at the same time?!  The whole point of booking with a friend is so you can visit and chat.  I should mention too that this is not really a spa in any sense of the word…it is a house that has been renovated and does not have a relaxing spa feeling whatsoever.  Anyway, long story short, we had our manis and pedis done.  But they did terrible jobs on our manicures and we’re quite sure they never actually sterilized their nail utensils.  And on top of that, my friend’s “estitician” (I use that word loosely…very loosely) had to keep excusing herself to throw up claiming she was pregnant and was suffering severe from morning sickness.  I guess this is the same person who wouldn’t be able to do the hot stone massage later?!  We left after begrudgingly leaving a tip.  Within hours our nails were peeling off and looked terrible.  (I might also mention here that my “estitician” who I believe was Jennifer, kept accusing me of touching or bumping my nails because the shellac seemed to be bubbling and not setting properly.) When my friend called back to complain, “Jennifer” essentially called her a liar and told her that no one had ever complained about her services before.  My friend told her that that couldn’t be true after all of the negative reviews we had seen and was hung up on.  We have cancelled our massage appointments and will just cut our losses.

Anyway, the whole point of me posting on here is to warn others to stay away from this supposed spa and avoid any deals you see for this place.  I would hate to see a bride or bridal party screwed over by these people who obviously have no morals.

There are plenty nice spas in the Ottawa area – like The Spa in Bells Corners, any Rinaldo’s location, Renu Spa, etc, etc.  Spend a little more and enjoy the experience!!  Good luck!!  And please learn from our mistake!

@Nicoso:  I did send a message to DealFind.  I relayed the story to them but not in the sense that I was looking for my money back, more from the perspective that I think they need to be aware of this company and not accept any specials from them.  Unfortunately it’s too late for pics although that thought did occur to us after the fact.

Good luck with your claim though!
