I should also add that her response time has been top-notch. I contacted a few other bakers around town and didn’t hear back from them for weeks.

I am a big fan of Thimblecakes:

They can also make allergen-free cakes in case any of your guests have allergies or dietary preferences that require you to have a few special cupcakes on hand.

I should clarify that I haven’t dealt with them for a special order, just pop-ins to grab a box of cupcakes here and there, but their cupcakes are delicious and the cakes I have seen in their shop (Bank St. between Gloucester and Somerset) are beautiful!

@Honu:  I went to the Flour Shoppe for a tasting. While their cupcakes are beautiful to look at, I found them dry and the icing was overwhelming. I am going with Fabulous Cakes by Jessica – she has a home-based business. Her cupcakes are moist, icing is perfect, and she has a lot of creative ideas for design. Both places charge around $2.50-3.30/cupcake and $55-65 for the top tier cake, $100 delivery and a small rental fee for the stand.

@Honu:  Great! Hope it went well! It shouldn’t be a problem to find some vegan cupcakes from somewhere else, which would probably cost you more in the end to go solely with a vegan company.

@Honu:  That’s great to hear! I have heard good thing about Auntie Loo’s as well. Isn’t this the best part of the planning?! 🙂
