Hi,

I noticed you said you went with Bytown Catering and that they don’t do tastings? Did they give you a reason for this?

I’m thinking of going with them for our wedding since they are very reasonably priced, but since my parents are the ones paying for that part of the wedding, they have been insisting they want a tasting with whatever caterer I choose…

Also, I was wondering about your photographer, if you don’t mind, what was the price and what did you include in your package? I’m still trying to get an idea of what is offered vs price before I start calling photographers and making appointments to meet with people.

Thanks for your review, I definitely hope to post one when I get married as well since they’re so helpful!

I’ve heard many great things about It’s a Matter of Cake and based on what I’ve seen – the work is amazing. I was wondering if you happened to remember where they are in terms of cost vs the other places you considered (and if you don’t mind, listing them as well – you can PM me if you want)?

Thanks!

@SugarRose:  Thanks again for your honest response, I will definitely be contacting him when we get around to picking our cake.

I have my first dress appointment at Alliance in 2 weeks and I can’t wait!

@SugarRose:  I remembered you had your wedding at the Museum of Nature, and since similar rules apply to the Aviation Museum, I had a few questions for you!

Did you get your insurance through your own home insurance company, or did you use a third party?

With regards to the vendors you used (caterer/DJ/photographer), did they all have to present valid insurance to the museum? Or was that just the caterer and DJ? Did you find these rules caused you to have problems picking vendors?

I’m still looking for some vendors so I was just curious! Thanks 🙂

@SugarRose:  That’s a huge help! I wasn’t too sure what to expect with the price of event insurance, so that’s good to know. I ended up calling the museum and asking – the DJ is the only vendor that needs insurance so that’s good 🙂 I’m not exactly sure why DJ’s need insurance, but whatever.
