Darling Husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary last Sunday. We can’t believe it’s already been a year already. I made him his favorite brunch, baked eggs in a breadbowl. He went and picked up lattes and flowers that morning.
We were together 5 years before we were married and our relationship has remained strong and silly. We never take ourselves too seriously and we’ve had a great year.
That afternoon we went around town shopping for new oven mitts. I know, we’re super cool. Haha
That evening I decided to put on my Wedding dress and surprise him. I didn’t realize just how much fun it was. Ladies, I highly recommend just putting it on. It will instantly put you in such a great mood. I wore it around the house for over an hour.
So there isn’t a real point to this post except wanting to share something light. For your entertainment here’s a photo of me in my dress in the kitchen. 😂 Of course we had a champagne toast!

I hope your top layer of cake survived.

crackerjax : We actually didn’t have a cake (that might be a WB sin) lol We had pie so we didn’t save anything. I have my Brothers & SILs cake frozen in MY freezer from their July wedding. I sent them a text saying if they don’t come get it I’m eating it. Lol

rubyrane : We didn’t have a traditional wedding, nor a traditional wedding cake either! I don’t see the big deal, and I certainly wouldn’t want to eat year old, freezer burnt cake! Ick lol Just wanted to say that I’m glad you had fun and put your dress on again! I’m looking into having mine shortened to wear on our first year anniversary, and using the leftover material for baby blankets.

ladyvictoria : Oh yeah ours was pretty far from traditional as well. I rocked that dress at the courthouse, then we had a backyard party the next evening. It was such a great time and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think using your dress for future babies is so sweet!

Funny timing! We celebrate our first on Monday. Don’t know about tossing the wedding dress back on (it is still in my office closet) but I can’t wait to toast to one year!

ladyvictoria : our 1st wedding anniversary was a month ago… and the wedding cake tasted as good as on the day… i warmed it a bit and popped some cream on top and Yum. Even after a year in the freezer. We glad wrapped, then al foil.
