One of the big reasons we chose our reception venue was because they provide a wedding planner/coordinator. The person came HIGHLY recommended.
After meeting with her, putting down our deposit, going over details, etc. we found out through another one of our vendors that she was leaving for a job in a different city. We were discouraged by this, but took comfort in the fact that her assistant would be the replacement.
We went along planning, meeting, choosing food, decor, seating arrangements, etc. with our new coordinator. We decided she would do the centerpieces and other decor since she had a lot of experience with it and the venue had done some friends’ centerpieces.
Tonight we received an email telling us that she is now leaving the company as well. Her last day is… SATURDAY. As in 4 days from now.
Ahhh. I’m kind of freaking out. It sounds like her replacement is a person whom just graduated college and has never had a similar position. This could get interesting…
