- Wedding: June 2013
So we just got back home after two weeks and I’m finally getting my pictures up on my computer. Our wedding was great. Almost all of our guests came to Anna Maria for a whole week, so we just had the best week ever. I’ll start with our welcome bags, which I have never posted any pictures of yet.
Everything was inside of a sand pail that matched our wedding colors. We had coosies, a bottle of wine from a vineyard near his families cottage, a jar of fuzzy navel jam from Florida, flip flop bottle opener, a starfish wine bottle stopper, a deck of cards, a tropical trail mix, plantain chips and not pictures, there were some flip flop suckers and inflatable beach balls. There was also a welcome letter, and an information packet on the area.
The night before our wedding we had a welcome party, instead of a Rehearsal Dinner. There were about 50 people there. The food was amazing, we had coconut shrimp, teriyaki chicken skewers, mini crabcakes, buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes on a skewer, beef canape and mini cheesecakes. Our two signiture cocktails were a hit, as evidenced by our bar bill, haha!

Now to our wedding. We had a lot of mishaps, but it was still great. First, we became a little rushed taking pictures (we did a majority first, along with our first look). Important family members were either missing, or kept gravitating back towards the bar. During the ceremony, my cousin didn’t even come sit down and my aunt (her mother), complained it was hot and there should have been water….ummm everyone else had a drink, I made it a point to make sure there was plenty of water before hand, she is just a complainer. It was very hot out though and my groom and I were sweating our butts off all night, to the point we were feeling kinda sick for a bit. Everyone else seemed great though, because they were wearing lighter clothes lol. My other cousin (same family) asked me to bring a friend I had met once to my intimate family and friends wedding, but i’m a pushover, so I said ok. Well he actually showed up with TWO friends that I had never met, they were MIA most of the evening and it turns out they were smoking weed on the beach. So I paid to feed two random people who just got high at my wedding. All of my cousins were dressed in street clothes (which other guests mentioned they thought was wierd the next day. Oh and did I mention there was 9 people that showed up in that family and I didn’t even get a card. Last and the worst, someone requested that the grooms grandma’s get up to do the harlem shake, well his one grandma and 89 and before the song even started, she fell and broke her hip. She is still down in FL right now. I feel so terrible, but everyone said that the whole week down there was one of the best times she’s had in years and even at the hospital she was bragging to all the nurses about the wedding. She’s so sweet.
Back to the good stuff!

Overall, it was amazing. Our first look was so amazing, we were both crying, lol. Our food was so good, my best friend told me her and her fiance were talking about how they hope their food is as good as mine was, it made me so glad, because I know most wedding food isn’t great. Our DJ complimented our music taste. Everyone told us how Anna Maria is so beautiful and they love it there. Our guests kept saying how they couldn’t wait to come back. Our wedding convinced my SIL that she wants a Destination Wedding when she gets married. And now I’m married!
