Bees I am so sad. This morning I was getting ready for work. SO went to the backyard to water the plants and our six month old female cat took off. (She is fixed) The backyard is all preservation, so there’s no other houses back there, just woods. There are deer, snakes, possums, and I’m sure other animals back there we haven’t seen first hand.
Its been 14 hours and she hasn’t returned and there is no sign of her. SO and I are very upset and worried about her.
SO spent a couple hours trying to find her but no luck. It’s been raining off and on all day. We put some food out for her in case she returned. If she doesn’t return by tomorrow I’m going to put up signs on Monday.
I just needed to get this out and if any positive vibes sent my way so we can find her.

Awwww! I’m sure she’s just exploring and will be back!! Treats, food and fresh water are always good… Our cat responds to the sound of shaking the treat and food bag so maybe if you take one of those with you if you go out, walking around looking for her that will get her attention too

LoveWillLightTheWay: I bet your kitty comes back! She is probably exploring the woods. Maybe she is hiding out somewhere because of the rain? When it stops, you should go into the woods with a bowl of canned food and call her name.

My (ridiculous) brother once decided that my sister’s cat needed to go to the mailbox with him. Well, a big truck came by and scared the cat and she freaked and ran off. We were all devastated– my sister most of all, obviously. My brother felt TERRIBLE and went out looking for her each day. Finally on the second or third night, he went out really late when it was quiet with her food and shook it so she could hear it. She came running!!!
Your kitty will come back! Keep calling for her and looking. She’s probably unde some bush, too scared to go far.

Think close, and search in a spiral expanding outwards. Search at dusk and dawn when cats are most active. Call for her. Consider setting up a feeding station and a wildlife camera. Notify local vets and shelters, and call her microchip registry to report her missing.

LoveWillLightTheWay: That’s so sad. I just wanted to say that I understand what you’re going through. We found a kitten alive, surrounded by a litter of stillborns under our front porch. We saved her at 2 days old and hand fed her. One day her older ‘sister’ pushed open my mom’s back door which wasn’t properly latched and the (2 month old kitten, Cocoa) went out with her. The older one came back… we never found Cocoa. 🙁 I looked for her for days – it really broke my heart.
I’m sending millions of good vibes your way and hope you find your baby.

LoveWillLightTheWay: I understand how upset you are. Does she still have claws? Deer do not hunt cats. The snakes and possum? Cats are predators. Did she get out of house or was she in the backyard when ran off? If never been out, she is probably scared and hiding nearby

Keep trying! I live on the edge of the forest and my 2 fur babies go outside regularly. Cats have good survival instricts. One of mine went away for a week one summer (it was the first time we left her with another cat). As soon as we got home my mom went into the back and called her name and she came running out of the woods. I thought she was gone for sure. Good vibes going your way.

our kitty has returned!! We heard her meowing. And we saw her sitting at the edge of the woods just sitting there mowing almost as if saying ok come get me.
So happy to have her back. Thank you bees!

LoveWillLightTheWay: Yay! I’d just make sure you have her updated on all of her shots and things if she is going to be exploring. Cats are pretty smart. They can usually hold their own in wooded areas. Its where there are people and traffic that I get worried!

LoveWillLightTheWay: I’m so glad she came back!!! I had a kitten missing for over a week and one day he just showed up on the porch. We have a new puppy now and our indoor cat thinks she should be able to go outside and play too. We have to be super careful when we open any doors, she’s even climbed over our fence in our backyard.

I bet she’s happy to be home now, hopefully she got the adventurous streak out of her system haha
