I think it looks great!
I think it looks great!
@julies1949: Good idea about asking them about a liner. I was thinking of painting the inside of the bowls white, but a liner might be an easier option for me. I’m going to add that to my list. 🙂
Really gorgeous!!!! I love the idea for the vase! The whole thing looks charming (and expensive)
@RedFeather: So glad to hear it. Charming is lovely and expensive it is not (as far as I’m concerned)! 🙂 The pedestal bowl (in the end, not including the paints that I didn’t use) costs about $3 after all is said and done, and the flower arrangements themselves are costing me ~$60-$70 each. I know that that might seem expensive depending on your geographical location, but the other florists quoted me upwards of $125 each, if not more. When this florist quoted me a price I said “OK!!” 🙂
@multinational: You did a wonderful job with the bowl/vase! I did something similar with the usual cylinder vases from Dollartree. Can I ask where you got the bowls? I’ve never seen them at Dollartree.
Also, in regards to the flowers themselves, the height of the arrangement itself is slightly higher but can it be remedied by your florist? And it is a tad darker but you could add some lighter greens or something like brunia or dusty miller depending on your vision? I will have brunia in my bouquets and centerpieces. Dusty miller was a second contender that I may still add depending on how my sample turns out.
Those bowls look fantastic!
What a brilliant idea for the bowls!
I agree with the others… the flower arrangement is too high and too tightly compacted. If it were lower… with the flowers more loosely arranged… and lighter berries…. it would be perfect!
These are lovely!
Thanks again everyone for your feedback.
I love the bee!!
@MochiBride: hey. sorry that I missed this question:
The bowls are from the dollar tree, but they are not carried online and we couldn’t find them in all of the stores we visited. only certain stores carried this particular bowl. Also, They are kind of difficult to paint because of the cut glass, but they are the biggest glass bowls we could find at the dollar tree, and you can’t beat the price!
I love the bowl and candlestick combo. They worked out REALLY well. The paint color is so pretty. I have to agree with all the changes you want to make… lower stems, more flowers, less greens. Good luck. They are SO pretty.
