YAY!!! It went off without a hitch (well, except that we were racing around like fools because the sun was setting) BUT here is our photo session blogged and our photographer says she has many more photos coming! I know some of the ones she hasn’t shown yet are super cute! (ie. feet sticking out the back of the tent…more of my purple dress, boots and sunflowers…and some sun flares..and maybe a close up of that cherry lattice pie my mom made!)
my mom and I picked all of the flowers alongside the highway the morning of our shoot, I did my makeup legit…for the first time really…ever…and my fiance made our tent!! The wooden sign is something I made over the summer for fun with a huge magnifying glass and the sun to burn it in. I also set two cute little pears out by the crates and diyed the blue mason jar with lace and jute. We had some Boylan’s Birch Beer with us (it’s special to us), some camping JIffy Pop popcorn, camping lantern, a big E for Elliott over our tent (I had made that previously and didn’t know what to do with it so my mom said to hang it on our tent!). I also made our burlap/jute banner to hold. We ate that apple basket of veggies later…along with the pie. OH yeah!! There are photos of us feeding the pie to each other but we won’t get those until later. The quilt is one my great grandmother made a long time ago–seriously it’s falling apart. We also had a llittle camping skillet with us, lol.
I hope you enjoy! and best wishes to my fellow rustic brides out there!

ZOMG I LOVE THESE!!!!
Could you possibly do a tutorial of how you made that sign? It is kick ass!
Well, the sign…it’s just a hunk of wood my dad had in the garage…and I drew out the letters I wanted…then took this HUGE magnifying glass we have (it’s seriously got like a 5-6″ diameter) angled it with the sun at high noon (lol) and waiting for the wood to start burning…then moved the glass appropriately to fill in the letters I had written. I made some mistakes (the heart, namely) but I still love it 😀
I made a diy cardbox too, but I used a woodburning tool. Here’s a picture of it:

Oh! I forgot—this was shot at Faust Park in Chestefield, Missouri (St. Louis, MO)
Faust is where we had our 2nd date back in 2004 and where Doug first told me he loved me…only it was on accident, LMAO! He later confessed that he realized it was true after he said it. I also got VERY sick on our 2nd date and he had to carry me away from this park to his car. My parents then, embarrasingly, had to come pick me up and drive my car home. Anyway, Faust is dear to our hearts and mostly everything IN our shoot was…so I’m glad we have it captured in our photos.
The “real” camping shot at the end was in Kirksville, MO.
We now reside in northern Illinois while attending grad school.
aaannnddd….us ACTUALLY camping…LOL…not quite as graceful

Oh woah wait, whoops!!
I meant, that I DIYed the stylization of our engagement photos–not the photos themselves.
