Haha! That’s great! I would be proud of her. My dog will sit and watch TV with me – literally watching the screen and cocking his head to the side.

OMG.. mine is the same way!! He will bark at cartoon animals, no matter what they are. He will bark at a sea horse… Really… When have you ever seen a sea horse??

He also knows if there will be an animal as soon as he hears the commercial. And I swear he knows the commercial cycles because out of no where he will run up to the tv before an animal comes on in the next commercial and start going crazy when he sees it.

Dogs are very smart. And annoying.

Haha, my first dog (a lab) knew all his toys by name (Kong, ball, bone, arthichoke (yes), etc.).  One day I had the TV tuned to a program about the arctic and the announcer started talking about penguins.  My dog ran and got his penguin toy, brought it over in front of the TV, and sat there like he was waiting for further instruction.  Like, “Penguin, got it!  Now what?!”

@bleusteel:  My furbaby loves to watch TV. He is especially interested if there are barking dogs, but I’m not sure if he recognizes dogs that don’t make any noise (he has never barked at just images).

My dog is the same way! Any animal, even little bunnies,  cartoon or not.  It doesn’t matter, she will growl and bark at it. It truly gets annoying, especially if we are watching a movie and there is an animal. plus i love watching Dog Whisper, but it’s really hard when she is being so noisy….but she is my fur baby and I love her 🙂

My dog likes watching dogs on TV too!

He actually has a “sixth sense” like many dogs do and can feel the presence of our loves ones who have passed over.

It was VERY freaky at first when ALL the hair on his body would stand up and he would stare at a person who we cannot see. He often barks at them or runs over and hides behind me. My Fiance and I recently started talking to whoever is “visiting” us as we put it. We don’t ever know if it’s my grandparents or his but they all recently passed away. The last time I started talkikng our loud and said “please don’t scare our dog, but you are welcome to visit us anytime” our dog actually looked WAY more calm and went and sat down on the couch.

Our chihuahua Wort is terrified of the MGM lion roar…at the beginning of a movie, he runs for his bed, or Mr. 99 or I…I feel bad for him but at the same time…it’s just the TV!
