It’s great that you are still being upbeat and trying to find alternatives to host a perfectly gorgeous and intimate wedding. Everything works out the way it is supposed to so I am sure wherever you end up having it, will be the PERFECT place.

Thats too bad about the other place, we have to get married on a Sunday because Friday and Saturday have 150 person minimums at our venue (we’ll have 100-120, I think). So I feel ya, thats too bad they wont let you do it even on a Sunday. I’m sure your wedding is going to be beautiful at the other location too though! Maybe you can still go take pictures at the other property?

I know it’s a huge bummer for you, but it’s pretty common with wedding venues.  My venue would only give me the small room because we were too small for the grand ball room (180 min on Sat night).  I’m sure you will find another venue you love.

It wasn’t my dream place but one venue I visited told me the same thing about Mon-Thurs only and I have 100 people.

@anne B: I’m sorry the first place didn’t work out (also your original plans alltogether). But it sounds like you’re getting a great deal- hopefully when you go back for the appointment, you’ll fall in love seeing it in a new light 🙂 If not, something else will work out. Getting the venue checked off my list made everything else fall into place for me…

My wedding will be small like yours & our venue does hundreds of weddings a year- when we met with them initially, the coordinator must have gotten my emails mixed up with someone elses because as we sat down she said “so 100 people…”. I corrected her right away, alittle annoyed that she hadn’t paid attention to my emails & her face immediately fell = her comission plummeted & she kept referring to our wedding of “just X amount of guests”. They ended up taking us but they didn’t want to !! If the place hadn’t been so gorgeous, plus the only resort on the island that did intimate weddings, I would have stomped right outta there!

@anne B: “Really…………its not where you are…….its who you’re with”

How eloquently articulated!  I’ve been married for several years. And that statement rings true even till this day.

My friend (the bride) and I were reflecting upon this a few days ago. 🙂

Your venue looks beautiful! Congratulations on booking it, and I adore the gazebo in the park!
