it just stinks that you attach ‘wedding’ to anything and people find it fit to charge you so much more! I will keep m fingers crossed for you though! I hope that you find something equally stunning!

The popular wedding locations are always crazy expensive.  DH and I originally wanted Walt Disney World. The wedding package for an outdoor location was $4,925, plus we would have had to stay at one of their resorts for 4 nights.  We could have had up to something like 18 guests with that (cake & champagne only, no food), but were planning to elope.

I like the second location just as much!!! i say go with it. Its closer anyway. The Biltmore charges that much because they can.

The Biltmore is beautiful – I’d totally spring for the cost, but that’s just me!  It’s definitely pricey.  Many elopement packages I’ve seen, even for no guests are in the 1500-2000 range.  I’d ask and see if they can work for you given you’ll have no guests.  Maybe the elopement package she talked about was including guests.  Can’t imagine why they’d make you have a cake for just 2 people!

@MrsParcell:  What a price mark up!!!

So are the grounds public at all at the Biltmore (not sure if it’s private or a historical monument type thing)?

My package with two nights stay (plus flowers, champagne, breakfast, 3 course dinner, wedding cake, etc) at a 5 star lodge was $1700!
