Our engagement photos are scheduled for tomorrow… we were going to take them outdoors, near the Hudson, with the GWB in sight – it would have been great.
However, the forcast is 70% rain for the entire day tomorrow. I am sure it will be raining (and then: frizzy hair, wet props, crappy photos, blah)
We’ve procrastinated on these photos for so long I don’t think I want to wait anymore.
Plus, we had a whole day (taking the day off) planned around them!
I really don’t want to drag this out any longer.
Fiance is going to give a call to our photog and see what his thoughts are.
But I was thinking that maybe we could try to do it indoors instead.
Does anyone have any suggestions of any indoor places we might go to take some photos? Either general ideas or places in the Northern NJ area… it would be much appreciated!!

@CakeyP: If you are interested…There could be some AWESOME shots hidden in that rain 🙂

@Payless: I know, I know… but much like a cat… I hate being cold and wet!
Plus I’m getting my hair done for the occasion (by “done” I mean cut and a blowout HAH) and I would be sad to see it frizz. Fiance is treating me to the hair appointment (I really neglect my hair) and I don’t want him to waste his money.
But I agree… maybe at the end we can attempt some rainy photos!

@CakeyP: Umbrellas may not hold down frizz but they would keep you nice and dry 🙂
If not then is there a nice church nearby or even a urban area? Those tend to be the coolest settings for photo shoots besides natural surroundings. Can you drive around with you photog and let them get inspired to pull over?

Hoboken train station? And maybe a cute restaurant in Hoboken?
ETA: Or go into NYC?

I have a better idea. I always see these engagement photo shoots done in libraries, and they are just the cutest thing ever!
So I’m going to say, hoboken train station, then the library.
I think you could really pick any place you guys love and they will turn out great. A coffee shop, an ice cream shop, a bar, a diner, a movie theater, Good luck!

@Payless: I know… and we do happen to have matching umbrellas (thanks, mom!) Well, we live by some urban areas so that might be a thought.
@MrsTVLover: That could be really cute! I do love Hoboken (though parking is a pain)
Also, I really like the library idea… wish we lived closer to Newark, the public library there is such a nice building. Thanks for the suggestions! I know there is a teashop nearby that might be a good place to snap some shots.
Hopefully we’ll get lucky and the rain will hold off just for our photos *crossing fingers*
Then it can downpour all it wants!

I agree with everyone. There’s plenty of indoor places you can visit for pics like Hoboken Station or if your photographer allows it, take the PATH to NYC.
Another suggestion is bring an umbrella and take your pics along the Jersey City waterfront.
Or… ask your photographer if you can reschedule a rain date. I did that with my photographer and it worked out (I had mines yesterday, it was originally for Monday).

My engagement shoot got rained out, I was dead set on outdoor pics so we had to reschedule for a few days later. It will be ok! Good luck!

@CakeyP: are you planning on using the photos for Save-The-Date Cards or anything? if you are set on the location, can you reschedule?
i had my e-photos done at the end of july, my wedding is this month.
