I love that dress on you! It’s perfect! Congratulations ๐Ÿ™‚

I do have one question though, would you mind (if you want to PM me that’s cool) explaining how you did the jumping of the broom part? Where you fit it into the ceremony? And how it’s important to you?

I’m really looking to add something personal, so I’m curious. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful!!! You did a great job with the DIYs and you and your hubs are a great looking couple.

acglandorf:  Jumping the broom started in Europe, but was later adopted by African/African American slaves in the US, because they were not allowed to legally marry. Marriage conflicted with the slave owner’s “rights”, as marriage was a form of ownership. So, they would have a ceremony jumping over the groom to publicly declare their commitment to each other in basically a civil marriage. Even though it started in Europe, I’ve only witnessed it done at African American weddings.

stefzbee:  Well that’s good to know. It sounds like it was probably originally a pegan tradition then if it started in Europe. But that’s really interesting! Thanks for that ๐Ÿ™‚
