- Wedding: October 2015 - Star Spangled Banner Flag House Museum
I cannot believe we have been married for 42 days already! Our wedding day was absolutely fantastic with great 70+ degree fall weather! While a few things went wrong (groom’s cake was completely incorrect, one of my sisters was an absolute pain in the neck, we didn’t capture all of the bridal party portraits that we wanted, etc.), it did not put a damper on the day in the least. I completed a number of DIY tasks beforehand (including creating our monogram/gobo) and it was SO great to see things come together. Our venue was a museum in Baltimore and was quite unique place for a wedding. The ceremony was held in the courtyard, the cocktail hour on the first floor & the reception in a loft-style ballroom on the second floor. Our DOC was a lifesaver and the DJ rocked the house! The dance floor stayed packed (which is exactly what I wanted) & people who never really dance were on the dance floor.
As others noted, the day seemed to FLY by! Time felt like it was moving at warp speed and before you we knew it, the day was over! Here a few shots from our day. Some of my favorite shots are from the dancing portion of the reception, but for the privacy of our guests, I won’t post those. Anywho, enjoy these memories from our special day!
My bouquet and my “something blue”
We ordered this ring dish from Etsy…on the back it says “We Do!” & our wedding date. It was one of my favorite wedding day details.
I love this photo of my gorgeous engagement ring!
My wedding dress – (Maggie Sottero Velma – color Ivory over Blush)
I love this photo captured of me hugging my grandmother. She and I have a very close relationship and I’m thankful she was able to travel all the way from my hometown in California to be in Maryland for our special day.
DH waiting for me as we’re about to do our first look.
I just love his facial expression when he saw me!
This was when it hit me that we really were about to get married. My tears of joy were plentiful!
Our officiant was fantastic! He helped us to create a very personalized ceremony that was filled with love, memorable words, and laughter! Our guests are STILL telling us how fantastic they thought our ceremony was.
THE KISS!! We’re officially married!
This jumping the broom shot is one of my favorites of the entire bunch! I didn’t realize DH jumped so high!
Our beautiful bridal party! The Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses were purchased from Azazie.com & I loved the way they looked in them!
Husband & Wife! 🙂
One of my favorite details of the day was the steel drummer we hired for the cocktail hour! I absolutely love Caribbean music & DH’s family is actually from Guyana. Our guests still rave about this!
Our tablescape. We named each table after a city we’d visited together. We included a postcard, a photo of us in that city, and a short summary of our time in the respective city.
This is photo I took of the table names.
Our guest book table. We now have this canvas displayed in our home!
Our memorial table. When the bridesmaids came into the reception space, they put their bouqets in the vases.
This is personal photo of one of my favorite DIYs. The photag didn’t capture a great picture of our card box, but I loved the way it turned out!
I love this photo snapped during our first dance! <3
This shot shows our loft-style reception space. I loved the pillars and exposed ceilings!
Our wedding cake – it was strawberry shortcake & absolutely delicious!
The groom’s cake that was completely NOT what I ordered. It doesn’t look horrible, but it was supposed to match the tuxedo he was wearing and the baker completely ignored the photos I sent to her.
Forever the gentleman, DH was picking up the back of my dress as I climbed the stairs! I was determined to get back to the reception to continue dancing!
The End! 🙂
