@MissHarleyBlue:  Have something really fun to drink like: burbon apple cider, egg nog, cranberry wine. etc. 🙂

He can always get a turkey breast instead of a whole turkey. They cook a lot faster and are cheaper.

And you definitely need pie! Everyone loves pie…

@excitedtobeMRSF:  Curious about your corn casserole recipe. We ended up with a bulk-sized can of corn that’s been in our cabinet for a while now and we want to do something with it for Thanksgiving.

@Soon2BD-CBee:  I use this recipe and make a few changes!

http://www.mamalovesfood.com/2009/06/baked-potato-soup-slow-cooker-style.html

The first time I made it I used the whole medium onion, and it was just too much onion. Don’t get me wrong, I like onions, but it was too much. So now I just use half of the onion. Also the garlic (and I’m italian!) was too much, so I use 6 cloves.

I also don’t have a submerisible blender (yet!). So after the 6 hours, I ladle the soup into a blender with the cream cheese and blend to desired chunki-ness!

We are having a very small gathering of me, my mom & her husband, and my fi. We decided since it’s our last thanksgiving before we get married and begin OUR family, we’d have a thanksgiving with just my family.

We are having

– turkey & ham

– mashed taters

– stuffing

– devilled eggs

– cranberry sauce

– twice baked potatoes

– dinner rolls

– baked mac & cheese

and probably cherry pie & cheesecake for dessert.
