Did they fix the original leak?  Hopefully they’ll take care of the damage for you!!

We also recently went through a bad inspection. The house needs a new roof, new electric, plumbing work, and the AC wasn’t working (not good since we live in FL!) It’s short sale so we asked the bank if they’d go down in price so we’ll have the money to fix it ourselves, and they said yes.

Hopefully it will work out for you too!

Only $800?! I’d consider that a bargain when it comes to how costly water damage can be. I just spent a little over $10K on what is considered by professionals to be “minor water damage”.

Less than a $1000 worth of damage seems a silly reason to walk away from a home purchase.

@Treasure43: He has a point, but that should be something that can be uncovered during the inspection. If your first inspector didn’t find any more than the $800 worth and you’re still concerned, I’d have another inspection done, rather than walk away.
