This is by far one of the most special parts of our weddding planning journey. FH and I got to personalize the text on our Ketubah. We chose to have Hebrew and English text. I cannot wait to have this hang in our house, OMG – I CANNOT WAIT!!! FH and I wanted the border art to be something we hadn’t seen before. We pinned the tail on the donkey….Its a papercut w/branches growing up, symbolic of the tree of life.
eJewcation 101 – – Ketubah translation = ‘it is written.‘ Its a Hebrew marraige certificate dating back to ancient times and its one of the first documents giving woman legal and financial rights.
What do you think???

It’s gorgeous! I’ve never been a fan of the traditional Ketubah artwork (it is beautiful but not my style) so I love how contemporary the border of yours is 😀

@babyboo: Aw thx lady FH and I struggled with the traditional art work. We were both really concerned our parents would…pretty much freak with our choice, LOL – – They like it though, it reflects us.
PS – – sorry the picture is so darn big, LOL

Wow, the border is really cool.
The Jewish wedding posts make me want to convert. Jewish wedding traditions are so amazing and meaningful, I love it.

I’m debating on whether or not to get a ketubah, but I really love yours…where did you get it? Also, I can’t read the English text (too small) – what does it say?

@juuuules: Thanks girl – – the text thats above is a ‘stand in’ if you will. FH and I personalized our text and I didnt post it b/c its like posting our vows which are very intimate and personal to us I found the text artist on KetubahStore.com and reviewed with our Rabbi what best suits us. Then the papercut artist I found via another Weddingbee thread from I think about a year ago. He is available on Etsy and his dot com is here, Papercuts By Joe.

I love it! I can’t wait to pick ours out! We also want something a bit more modern so this is great inspiration!

Awesome! We also had ours custom made with trees in a modern style by an etsy artist (though totally different).

It’s beautiful! I really like the border art… looks like a lot of things I have at home (what can I say? I love tree branches ;). Great choice!
