Gorgeous! Do you mind sharing cost? We are starting to think about a kitchen Reno but not sure if it’s worth it because we will be trying to rent it out shortly anyways..

Holy crap! That is seriously gorgeous! Are you for hire? I would totally hire you to do the same thing in my house!

Thanks everyone!! Our goal was to up the value of our home when it comes time for selling one day and I truly feel like this did that.
For those asking on the cost of this, it all together came to around $32,000. We did everything through Lowe’s, which as beautiful as it came out, I really wouldn’t recommend for all the stress and headaches it cost. The contractor we used through them missed numerous deadlines he promised (we needed our walls ready for painting before our hardwoods were going in, but he missed 2 deadline to have that done and ended up painting it for us free of cost), did not discuss issues that would come up during install which led to a $2,000 bill at the end of the work that we weren’t expecting because we thought things went more smoothly than they really did, and along with bringing his personal life into the project. We found out afterwards he has been giving other customers a hard time as well and has 4 claims against him for unethical work.
Overall, the breakdown is as follows:
Hardwoods added to kitchen: $1,800
Contractor (Labor and materials): $15,000

Gorgeous! And inspiring!
We’re shopping for our Forever Home & they all need new kitchens even though they were built in the past few years.
We were planning to go through Lowes, too. Maybe not such a great idea? Would you use them again?

Honestly, no. We don’t even go there for just regular shopping anymore if we need something for the house because our experience turned us off from it so much. Beyond our contractor, we had tools that belonged to my Fiance taken from our home from our granite installers, a cup of urine in our basement that was left behind during our bathroom renovation when we didn’t have a toilet – which of course, if you have to go, you have to go, but don’t leave it for the homeowner to find. Every day, they left behind soda cans, half eaten sandwiches and chips for us to clean up – but there was a dumpster in our driveway for anything that thy needed. Out of our experience with Lowe’s, our project specialist was the only part that I was happy with. She was there for us each step of the way, but the constant excuses from managers above her and the contractors that they hire out was a nightmare. If you do decide to go with Lowe’s, I would recommend researching the contractor they assign to your project. I wish I did that in the beginning and I would have known about the claims against him and asked for someone else. That along could have saved a lot of the headaches. I was told that they won’t be using him in the future, but I doubt that’s the case. Good luck and if you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate! 🙂

I’m so jealous!!! That’s beautiful! We won’t be doing our kitchen remodeling until next year. We’ve done our living room, bathroom and had a couple projects we didn’t expect hit the budget pretty hard. I’m so excited to get my kitchen done! And as big of a pain in the butt as remodeling is the payout is so worth it!
