- Wedding: November 2016
My husband (!!!) and I were married in Wailea,Hi last Friday! Everything turned out great! We used Simple Maui Wedding as the coordinator for the ceremony and reception florals, and I worked directly with Gannon’s (where the ceremony and reception took place) for the reception dinner.
I went into having a destination wedding thinking it would be less stressful than having a wedding at home (we wanted a small intimate wedding), but I definitely had my fair share of stress through out the process! Overall it was great! It was exactly what we wanted and I would do it all over again!
We had 43 people fly to Maui from various parts of California. I know this is a large number for a destination wedding! We were so grateful everyone was willing to make the trip. We hosted a Wedding Welcome for everyone on Thursday night at Mulligans on the Blue before the wedding . We did “heavy” appetizers (fish and chips, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and fire cracker shrimp) which ended up being dinner for everyone, which was great! It gave us another opportunity to see our guests and hang out with them. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics from the Welcome 🙁 I was too busy talking and running around.
The pictures below our from a sneak peek of the pro pics from our wedding at Gannon’s 🙂 we brought a lot of decorations with us to Maui: the “welcome” sign, the silver candle votives, LED candles (I was worried it would be windy,it wasn’t), the card basket, a sign-able photo frame as our guest book, and some other signage for the reception area. Over all it was a fun day!
During my planning process it was hard for me to find other people who had already gone through the process of planning a desination wedding. So if you are planning a wedding in Maui and think I could help answer any questions, feel free to message me!
